Unable to verify barclays savings with PayPal
 

I am having issue verifying barclays savings account in PayPal. Couldn't set up the direct debit when account was added. Throwing up some error.

Anyone else having same issue in UK? Whats the way forward

What error are you getting exactly? are you able to actually add the account to your paypal account?

Savings accounts cannot accept Direct Debits.

You can still use the account to verify the PayPal and withdraw from the PayPal though

I can withdraw from PayPal but my limit of £1900 will soon be reached and I was told to add + verify bank to lift limit. Is there a way round this since I am only using savings account.

You can only remove the EU limits by passing the checks or submitting docs on PP UK

No. That is the only way to remove EU limtis full stop.

Even if you used a current account then you would still need to send docs to remove the EU limits :thumb:

Quite a few savers account do actually accept direct debits as do quite a few Building Societys

So taerese have you tried uploading your documents yet to lift the eu limit on that saver account? Always interesting to hear about people's experiences

As stated above once you have verified the PayPal and the saver gets kicked, log in to the PayPal, click withdraw money and add the saver to the withdraw part.

You should be OK to use it for withdrawals then without issues :)

I agree.

However letting it get kicked has a negative effect on an account, I wonder if you even know what it is ? or just a member of the cut and paste crew

Removing it and adding it when you want to withdraw stops this negative effect.

Its sometime the smallest of details that has a big effect.

I have a few savers based in UK that have dd enabled - not with this particular bank but other (e.g. HSBC) - they work well.

Current accounts work better with stealth. Period.

I would also say savers work Just as well as a basic account or current if your adding a VCC, If added to paypal correctly.

Only real advantage I see with a current account and basic bank account is the fact they come with a debit card which can be used in paypal under certain circumstances , however most here use VCC so adding a savers correctly is not really any different to adding a current bank account number or basic

like I said , plenty savers accounts accept DD Mandates.

savers added correctly don't get red flagged when you remove the dd mandate .

I would say for stealth the basic bank account is actually better than current account for the simple fact your not credit checked (which goes on record)every time you try to open one, basic account don't have credit checks , they are credit scored .

I do not have issue withdrawing with the saver. The issue is that I am trying to lift my limit from £1900..

I probably will add the document if that's the last option.

if you have failed the confirm location part then there is no other real option other than give paypal what they are asking for.

did you do the confirm location part where it asks for your details ?

I have a great sense of déjà vu.

no point in getting is shuch a tizz about bank accounts.

Always a personal choice.
