Ebay/Paypal Chat

Hi all,

what are peoples thoughts on using the chat service when it comes to upgrading accounts or responding to a request for more information etc? Is it safe to send them documents whilst on chat you think so the request ID is looked into straight away?

Heres what I do and it works quite well or has done for me up till now....Bang Bang...wheres my foot.

I never contact them unless its for request for docs, when I get a request for docs, I upload them late at night while on chat and ask them to review them straight away, the main reason I do it this way is because you don't get the English/Irish Reps that know what there looking at.

Once passed I also ask there and them then to raise the limits...kill two birds with one stone, never been refused either.

Good luck.

JJ,

Appears you are talking about doing something when you have become a seasoned seller.

Maybe add that to the posts to save your feet.

ps : OP do this at your own GRAVE peril. Or you could face making more accounts in different names. *coughs* Get yourself in a right tizz if you are not careful.

Seasoned seller or not, its the only option if he wants to try and keep the account and its a request for id

He would have two options .
Ditch the account or provide what they ask for.

Im my experience it is best to try and limit the risk when uploading the id by doing at night when they can't make the same checks as they do in the day.

Seems to work well enough for me.

like I said above , other than an id request I would never contact them.

Interesting approach there joffieJaffa, wonder if it would work as well on a new account!!

I did always do this for feedback revision, get the Manilla lot and every neg feedback got removed, if you get the Irish its 50/50, and if you get a guy called Antony , you will never get anything revised lol

Have you had a break from selling in the past 3 months?
It appears you are not aware that the ID gets approved for a short time, then paypal limits the account again?

If you are not aware of that, get reading the forum AND re-think blanket advice that might kill an account off needlessly

All the best.

Greenbean, what do you mean by it gets limited again? I've not seen this mentioned on here lately. Does this happen with every account?

Also, you may not have noticed but just because they get accepted by someone who doesn't know what to look for, that is NOT a good thing - I would rather make what I submit 'proper' and have the day time reps review them and accept.

Yes, I am talking about eBay not just PayPal!

Listen, the OP asked a question, i gave an answer, he dosn't have to listen to me neither does anyone else but at least he got an answer from me. , just becuase you would do something different dose not make my answer wrong, there are always different ways of doing things in ebay or paypal and even if you follow the advise of this forum you can be shut down, nothing is GT'D where ebay and paypal are concerned.

i do my reseach, every day of my life and have probably forgot more than you know, and one thing i do is what i posted above is the best meathod, especilly with the up comming changes ebay are making.

yes and i answered the ebay side of the question

i havn't seen anyone else offer an answer as yet, which i thought was the whole point of the forum.

most people seem more intrested in starting argument or get hung up over the smaller details than actually offering the OP Some advise.

I am going to be the one to tell you what you do is BAD and should not be advised to other members.

Sending documents through chat maybe just get tossed into the long list of waiting documents - like any other service...just worth considering

oompaloompa 02-12-2015 03:37 PM

Re: Ebay/Paypal Chat

chat do not accept docs anyway, and they never did.....

if I could not get in an acc years ago, they would verify me with questions and links...but not anymore, they ask you to phone. chat used to be quite useful, but not really anymore....they are still ok for fees issues.

You can get passed to trust and safety via chat, but they will not verify you, or accept docs....

I have first hand experience with Filipino people and their pretty chill when it comes to policy stuff, And everyday things in general. Irish people are kinda strict and by the book

Good advise, late at night maybe 11 pm UK time, it would be 7 am in Manila.
Are we talking about Chat centers in Manila? Or Call centers? same thing?

Re: Ebay/Paypal Chat

might be mistaken but assume OP refering th the livechat box for ebay, written online comms, does not exist for pp.

yes, calling in to manila, they will often sort it...chat tells you to call....and they will often get you back in to an account if you have an issue...as for docs, they need to be sent via at least email or uploaded, faxed......the call centre might be able to look at them if you email/fax them though...heard of that happening before.....

Interesting recommendation but seems a bit logical. Have to make adjustments for all time zones :)
