question about banks
 
hi i paid some money into an account, but goods were'nt delivered.

is there anything i can do?
i have no idea whos account i payed into.

can i find out by contacting the branch the account is held at?

Not a lot your going to be able to do.

Banks do not reverse bank transfers.

What was it you purchased?

is there anyway i can report this guy?

i dont even know his name or address.

if i ring the branch up will they give me the account holders name i payed into? or thats not somthing banks would do right.

They can generally give the first initial and the surname, but that depends on the bank.

so what would i say exactly?

id like to report the person for fraud or something like that? but i think a name would be neccassary right? its why i would like to try and get the account holder name.

You would need to go to the police to report them for fraud.

Unless you are looking at many £1,000's thought the police are not going to do a lot about it.

Next time make sure you pay with a method that you have some comeback if need be.

This may be a case of lesson learned I am afraid. I would still pester whom ever you bought the shoes from for them. Maybe they are just running behind on postage?

no ive definitley been scammed, its been over 2 weeks, ive asked for tracking id no responses to my messages.

it was £90, which is alot for me.

im going to try ringing the bank up, see if i can get the account holder name as suggested.
