Default Stealth name and address

Hi,

Probablary a simple question to the seasoned stealth professionals! But If I go stealth is it better to use a completely different name and address or use an abbreviation of my current name in respect of ebay UK when I submit the direct debt request to the bank surely it will only be processed using my real name?

answers on a postcard!

But then wont the bank reject my direct debt mandate from Ebay as the names will be completely different?

No, it will still go though so long as its a basic or current account.

You will not be able to use the DD mandate to fund the account though due to the mismatching names. You would just need to use a VCC or funds already in PP

I cant comment on other banks but with FD you can open/close as many accounts as you want (i must have gone through 30 plus) without jepodising your credit rating as these dont show - even the bank employees cant see how many accounts your have had historically

Really? I just got off the phone from opening an account with them and they gave me a right grilling about what I wanted to use the account for, where money was coming from, did I expect any payments in the next 3 months, do I send/receive money from abroad, all different bank accounts I might have, asked several times why I wanted the account!!! I think the only thing they didnt want to know was how regular I am...

Im not saying your wrong, but I am very surprised after that call I just had. Why cant they see how many accounts you have? Someone must be watching? Would it be advisable to call them up and ask for more accounts now, or leave it? Can I ask for several at a time, or is that a bit too cheeky! lol

EDIT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Sorry I just read your post again and saw you said you had 30, not have 30! But still, how come they dont know? Surely that would be curcial data for them?

Barclays, Santander and Co-op are excellent as well for UK stealth, easy to open accounts online, even going in to open takes only minutes, no ID was needed. Barclays was the one I went in to open a second current account and as long as I had my debit card with me for the first account they didn't need anything else, the first account with them I had simply opened online, virtually no limit on how many could be opened, any not in use could be closed along the way.

richie2065 - what should I ask them? Just for another account? I presume I should say that I havent already got an account with them to test it all properly?

I totally believe you BTW, Im just surprised and/or concerned I did/said/asked for something incorrectly on the phone - I just asked for a current account with a saving account for my wages to be paid into (but not an account switch).

RosieTosie - what do you say to the bank staff when they ask you why you want another account? Or dont they ask at those banks?
