first direct bank....
 

i was reading another forum post and didnt want to hi-jack it, there was a member who said they had about 30 first direct accounts, i looked on the site to open a couple but the only ones i can find are current account that have fees and a overdraft. The member said that they are non credit effecting, does anyone know what accounts the member was referring to? I tried to google first direct basic account but just points me back to the current.

i opened one yesterday and took the fee paying option (if you keep 1k in credit you dont pay fees). That was before I saw the post you refer to! If I remember correctly there was something in the news about the gov making banks offer a basic account that does not offer ODs, insurance or any other facilities, so bankrupt people etc can open them. I *think* this is what was being refered to in that post. No surprise you wont find it in FD propaganda...

I was going to call up and ask for my account application to be halted and changed to a basic, but have now decided to let it be. Apparently they cant see if you have another account or not anyway, so Ill just enquire again another day when I need another account and see what happens...

Im just wondering if FD employees will be able to see I already have an account with them now I have taken the current account option? Anyone.....? :)
