UK eBay & PaypalGeneral discussions about eBay.co.uk Suspensions and Paypal.co.uk limited accounts. This forum is geared towards UK eBay & Paypal sellers.
in the past year I've only had one charge back from what I can remember and I just wrote on the receipt the buyers post code and wrote a f**e signature like as if it was signed by post office. It got accepted and buyer did not get there money back.
Now all of a sudden in the past 6 weeks I've been getting 5-6 a week and I can't win any. Not sure what's going on this is crazy and eating away at my profits. Are buyers just claiming they did not make the transaction or are they having there accounts hacked? as buyers email address and name seems to be different a lot on ebay & paypal. And when I check buyers account few days later it says this buyer is no longer a registered user on ebay so I'm presuming account has been suspended.
What's the best steps to take I can't win any as paypal are asking for proof it was posted to buyers shipping address and I'm uploading recipts but just getting case closed and saying I did not meet seller protection performance standards.
All of them are unauthorised claims.

I've never experienced a claim like that, so it may be just your luck
claims ae coming up in paypal as unauthorised claim.

I have had a few from overseas buyers, normally India, or Asia....
Won them all.
Always send the item by a good courier service like DHL that shows tracking each step of the way. Even with signatures, and the claimants saying they didnt get it, I have won all cases. Give them lots of evidence, screen shots of courier service, signatures etc.

yes its a lot of international claims i'm getting. what about for items not sent tracked as i sell a lot of low value items and tracked service costs extra £5 and profit is less than that. how do i win case then by getting proof of postage from post office showing buyers post code and uploading it to paypal?
I have no international shipping set on my stealth accounts although I made a good bit of $$ from international sales on my original.
If the item is 'lost' or the buyer claims it never arrived and the seller used the Global Shipping Program.. is the seller covered because the package was in eBay's hands? Or how does this go
The problem is not with shipping , claims are Unauthorized use of the accounts
Seems as if a competitor has it out for you, and is trying to get your account suspended , and if it keeps up like this with 6 chargebacks a week that won't be much longer
Are the buyers accounts newer accounts or very low feedback, could be a competitor making stealth accounts and than claiming unauthorized use

I agree it is probably the guy he ⊗⊗⊗⊗d a tracking number for, and OP won that case.
Perhaps it would be wise to leave that account to cool off for a bit.

Unfortunately you should never send an item on a standard service, its the only way you can win. You have no hope of winning a case with a posting receipt - PayPal see this as a potentional lost in mail item which means you refund and claim from Royal Mail. Send Fully tracked only. If you cant profit on the item this way, stop selling them internationally or setup another stealth account to do so.
As mentioned above , sounds like a competitor may have it in for you.

I completely disagree with your statement to send everything tracked. Dazzler knows what works for his business model.
Proof of postage is enough to win a chargeback. OP you should contact paypal over the phone, showing you have followed seller protection rules and provided the correct evidence. They should overturn their original decision.
I do agree that 6 in one week seems like you have been targeted.

6 a week sounds really crazy, i am surprised you are not shut down.
If you check the countires were you get charbacks from, just block them for some time or add high shipping cost so it would cover you recorded parcels costs.
You have to experiment a bit in order to stay alive.
Or send everything tracked and you will win be chargebacks, simples.
Proof of posting does not always win charhebacks at all that is bad information. Items can be lost within the mailing system and the sender has to claim therefore the buyer can open a case which is quite fair if it never turned up.

Re: Crazy number of chargebacks
If the item never turned up, then the buyer should open a item not received case though....
Telling people the answer is to send everything tracked is just lazy/ poor/ expensive advice.
The rules are on paypal and are quite clear. If people don't want learn them thats their choice.
What buyers should do and what they really do is entirely different.
If you want to be safe, send tracked, if you don't send parcels tracked then you are open for claims from charge backs to item not recieved and as we know with the new defect system on ebay an account can go down quite quickly with multiple item not recieved.
Sending tracked is the intelligent way and the safe way. May cost more but it will save your account and profits in the long run.
As we are fully aware paypal do not even operate by their own rules sometimes.
