sort code query
 

Just opened a "basic bank account" with natwest. My banned ebay bank account was with the same bank, but was a "select account". The account number is different from the banned bank account, but the sort code is the same. Does this matter or could they link this to my old ebay? :confused:

Sortcode being the same is fine because there are thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands of bank accounts linked to that branch all with the same sortcode

Rare for this to happen.

All we need is a new account number.

as long as you have a new account number you should be fine.

Sort code will be the same for thousands if not tens of thousands of accounts

Account number is what really matters

Don't add that account straight away, wait till the bank card arrives so that the account is set up properly, adding it to soon sometimes causes glitches when adding it to paypal to soon and you get an error message and won't be able to add the account.

New account is all that is needed - many people use the same bank so same sort code is not a problem
