A weird one from eBay?
 

I went on to eBay to list some items today and got the following message

"Attention!
We've noticed some activity on your account, and we need your help in verifying some information. We're sorry for this inconvenience, but while we're working things out with you, you'll have limited access to list new items on eBay.

Please proceed to your my eBay and follow the steps outlined in the email we sent you. Thanks for your attention to this matter!"

I checked my email and nothing from them. Checked my inbox messages and nothing.

So I did a chat and the guy said I need to wait for an email and should get it within 48-72 hours as they are gathering information?

So i tried to get some info from him and he went on to say

"as it's important that eBay maintains member privacy, we won't be able to share these details with you"

Got me all confused. Does this sound like something big or is it just the norm?

well.. did you perhaps try listing something to see if you have these restrictions?

Sorry for the confusion.

If you look at the account it all looks normal

Once ive entered the details for my item I want to list etc I click on ready to list

1. TELL US WHAT YOU'RE LISTING.
2. CREATE YOUR LISTING
3. REVIEW YOUR LISTING

Its when I'm on review your listing that I get the above message.

Your account is suspended, but you haven't received a notification.

It happens unfortunately.

They should email you eventually with either a request for some documents or a perma suspension.

How long do they usually take

Permanent suspension? Would they not then also remove the listing I have currently and also not let me list any more items?

Call them, ask what do they want. Usually, if they don't like something at all, they will suspend you without a warning (if your account is quite new, of course). In this current situation, nothing bad had happened, just send them the docs they want and your acc will be resumed.

What type of help is this?

The OP can not list.

He has no info as to what is wrong.

He can not use his account.

And you are daft enough to say nothing bad has happened?
