HSBC is often recommened for anyone overseas wanting to open UK bank accounts, probably be extra fees to pay for non UK residents.

HSBC can ask for an amount of over £5000 and for some accounts $250,000.

It aint that rosy to consider if not a resident.

Big lot of misadvice with that bank, sadly.

Halifax may be OK for you.

Not sure what you may need for ID.

Do you already have any UK accounts?
