Paypal still holding funds after more than 180 days
 

I phoned Paypal limitations for limited account with EU limits not lifted and funds held. Outcome - I said I would not be providing further ID. Reason - docs had failed because they had linked other accounts. Response from paypal - sent me an email saying funds would be held up to 180 days from last transaction. I am now over 180 days and no further emails and funds still limited. Can someone suggest an appropriate course of action. How do I write to them regarding their legal position? At present it is theft.

If it is 180 days past then just give them a call.
Last time I was in this position they would only allow me to withdraw the funds to the same bank account that was linked on the paypal account so if that account has been closed you might find it hard to get the funds.

It's potentially illegal situations like these where it is theft that I would love to see Paypal in court.
Surely the day must come sooner or later

Currently having this as well. 180 days was up yesterday. I called them last night, and will be calling again this morning. Will keep you posted.

Thank have released 99% of the money in Feb, but are still holding on to a few hundred quid.

It does seem like they have new tactics, as many of us have not been receiving the monthly 'update on your funds' emails, I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more 'PayPal kept my money' stories soon since the Nov and Dec culls.

Sometimes keep trying for a better PP agent....also an option...
