Using US Ebay in the UK

Hello all, first post here. :)

I have been looking at purchasing a high limit US Ebay account. The seller has advised me that I can attach a UK Paypal account to avoid the SSN limitation. Is this safe to do?

Should I also change the registration information on the EBay account as well so that has a UK address?

Has anyone else done this and did it work?

I sell items at approx. £15. So a 1000 / $25000 should be fine as $25k is around £16000.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Can anyone advise on this?

Can a UK Paypal be attached to a US Ebay and do I need to change the account information on the Ebay account to the UK details?

Potential for problems - why can't you just use a UK account?

Sighs, UK users may not know the reply so patience is a virtue.

My mind just went fuzzy at what you wrote in the first post.

Going to re-read what you asked.

I think I am in shock.

I will be blunt.

If you are asking that question, you are running a big risk of wasting your funds.

I have heard some daft things around here & this would be one of them.

Welcome to the forums OP - learn stealth and don't try this cross-country antics...can lead to failure. Don't aim for fast PRICEY sales from the start either

Re: Using US Ebay in the UK

There is no reason why I can't use UK accounts. The US seller was advertising a solution for international customers and I liked the prices.

Thank you for all the replies and advise.

I thought that having a US ebay account (with US address) attached to a UK paypal account (with UK address) kind of strange but it was the US seller that suggested it. Not sure why it was suggested when it apparently is such a bad idea.

This was my reasoning behind changing the address on the ebay account so that it wouldn't look so dodgy. I thought based on the US accounts available on here it should be possible to get UK accounts with 50 or 100 items with $5000 (about £3k) and 500 or 1000 items with $25000 (about £16k).

I'll take on board what's been said and probably just go for a ready made UK account.

UK accounts and US accounts are pretty different

if it happened there were issues with this type of set-up, no further accounts would be offered. There is EVERY reason for not doing this if such accounts get flagged by both ebay & paypal. No wise seller would put a noose around their neck just for the sake of a sale.

Again flawed reasoning.... changing info in the manner needed would raise flags HIGHER than all the standards of the Scottish National Party currently adorning poles thro'out Bonnie Scotland. A new account should avoid having info changed unnessarily.

Look at buying an account like this: as the UK & USA are different countries, so are the methods of using their accounts.

You put your money into that account that should give you the least troubles.
In the early days of stealth you learn the skills to carry you forwards.

Good decision. It's a p1ss poor idea to make accounts that way.
