Default Risks of registering as a Business Seller

Hi there,

Ive been selling in the Health and Beauty Category and i have hit my limits, in order to list more in that category i would have to register as a business seller.

The stealth account is in my girlfriends name so i can produce all the relevant info but is there any other risks or downfalls in registering as a business seller.

I am also making another stealth account using other details of whom i dont know and will come across the same issue, therefore is it difficult to register as a business seller under stealth?

It is easy, you just click a button.

As a registered business you must display your contact information.

You must also have a valid returns policy.

The fees chamge slighlty depending on the category.

You can also achieve top rated seller status and the benefits it provides.

Yes but is this risky to do when running under stealth?

Why is it risky? As long as you pay tax on all your earnings then whats the issue?

Sole trader and 'trading as' is there for a reason.

No its not risky.

Trading under a personal account even though you're a business is more likely to cause you issues imo.

^ This.

But be prepared for the returns increase, as buyers know they can return items easier with business sellers.

If you are hitting personal limits, you will have to upgrade sooner or later.

I have come to find out that personal limits dont actually exist. I have a personal/genuine ebay account with limits that have risen multiple times.

They say, ebay and others that the personal limit is about 100 items, but I have something like 3,000 items I can sell on a personal account with ebay, again its genuine, maybe why. But I NEVER sell to the limits, as its genuine account and I only sell personal belongings on there so as to not jeopardise me losing the account.

If you contact ebay, they will tell you limit is 100 and you need to upgrade to business. But leave it for a while, and naturally it will rise.

P.S. fees for business can often be lucrative, especially in the technology category where you can be making savings as much as 50% on FVF!
