Seems like I'm having a bad month for stealth
I recently opened a UK ebay account that got started with a 0/0 limit.

I think I made two rookie mistakes:
1) Started selling too early- It was a low risk item so I thought I could get away with selling straight away(was a tub of moisturiser).
2) Did not verify paypal with bank - I've seen people post here saying you can sell with an unverified paypal.

These 2 mistakes are likely to be the culprit. Which one do you think was more likely the cause of the 0/0 limit?

Also should I chat with one of the ebay reps since I got nothing to lose?

With the infamous 0/0.
I made the account today and listed today but I assumed because the item was low risk, it would be fine.

Break down the steps - phone used? cc used? did you bid and browse before selling?

Not having a bank verified paypal is the cause.

It is hit and miss what selling limits you get on an unverfied account.

Whose your ip provider? What address did you use? Real? What credit card and phone number?

I prefer verifying my pp before using it on eb - and trying to use it before eb

On the majority of stealths I have operated over the years I have listed for sale the same day as opening an ebay/paypal account. For all the others I normally list within 2-3 days, a week max.

I have never seen listing early as an issue personally.

I've given this a quick run around and it seems like its easily avoidable, if you don't rush it.
If you rush it, then it's really a hit/miss, but as long as you are active for at least a week, the normal 10/650 is the end result, in majority of cases.

Tub of moisturiser might be flagged.

Potential for phake.

Really need to look little risk for e bay & pay pal so you should be verified etc etc

Its really something your going to have to play with.. Try making one with a pp verified bank/ and one with only a vcc (80%verified), then try one with google voice/ one with tracfone.. try making one selling right away, then one with a lot more activity on it.. I think activity has a lot to do with it more than anything, from my trials.

Tracfones / Google voice are not relevant as they are not available in the UK.

I believe this is a system issue. Sometimes on my accounts it was showing 0/0 for couple of days. I just leave it aside and few days later it came up as it should be.

Another story: I have 4 months old account with 2000/30 limits. Today just logged in to list some items and it shows to me 0/0 :) Even though 4 items are current on auctions :)
So I certainly believe this is system error

Well it is a Friday, day of the gremlins on ebay. :eek:
