UK Paypal Individual, Sole Trader or Business
 

Hi I submitted docs yesterday on my stealth account. It asked me to select individual, sole trader or business paypal account. I selected Individual is this the best choice?

My ebay account is a business one which I forgot at the time I chose individual. I was a bit weary of selecting sole trader in case they asked for additional ID / Information.

Should I wait until my ID is accepted then try to change it to sole trader?

Yes that's fine. I prefer to run a PP with Individual with a business eBay so you have chosen a good option.

Don't change anything it's all OK :thumb:

Individual is the way you wanted to go so you got that right! :)

No need to change to a sole trader. No real benefit of doing so

Hi I'm just wondering it still best to make your ebay account business and your paypal account personal or doesn't it make much difference?

that's what you already done ?

on ebay business account you will have VAT to pay on your selling fee's and also you won't get the £1 selling fee's when you see them
But the pro's are higher selling limits

Yes but I am looking to buy a new stealth account and I noticed many sellers offer a Business Ebay and Business PayPal package so I wondered whether it's still a good idea to have business ebay and personal paypal or is it better / just as good to have business for both of them.

Personal accounts on ebay would be forced to upgrade at some point in time to business if they consider that you are running a business

I run several business ebay accounts and all paypal accounts are personal type and never had an issue, don't think you get any benefits for upgrading except help and support.... dunno

edit... i remember a paypal account i have had monthly receiving limit which has since been lifted but it did not affect anything as when i reached that limit it went into "pending" for the rest of that month

Is there anything i should be aware of when upgrading my personal ebay account to bussiness ???
Is it possible to do it online or need to call them??? Recently have tried to list more but every time eBay forces me to upgrade for Bussiness account...
Obviously it's my stealth account (>1 year) so a bit worried not to do smth wrong..

Go to your account information and click on change to business account. Its just a few clicks of a button, It does not affect the account (other than the obvious, different fees, returns policies etc)

It wont affect the account in any way other than that.

Upgrading to a business account is very straight forward and they don’t ask anything extra from you

Make sure to use individual or sole trader when upgrading as the option

on your personal accounts, how long have you guys found you can sell in a non-personal way, before you get told to upgrade.

I have a couple of accounts like that, each maybe 20 listings on repeat every month, about 40 sales, nobody has hassled me...

they are automated, so I sometimes forget about them!
