How many bank accounts?

im 17 and in the uk, i have made several appointments with various banks in my neighborhood including Barclays, Natwest, Santander, nationwide and HSBC (i made sure i avoided lloyds for reasons mentioned in other threads) to create current accounts with them to verify stealth accounts i will be making in the near future.

My questions are:

Do banks know how many accounts you have with other banks and possibly refuse you?

Are there any implications of multiple bank accounts that i should know off?


i aim to make 10 current accounts with various banks.

any advice would be appreciated.

Your age may cause problems, when are you 18? It may be best to hold off until then. You have to be 18 for paypal and ebay, it has been known for banks to shut down 'minors' accounts if they see paypal payments going in.

Yes they know and keep records forever.

If you want to see for your self, get a free Experian credit report - they do a 30 day free trial offer - remember to cancel it before the 30 days by calling them up, easy.

Don't try and open 10 current accounts at once. Everytime you apply banks run a credit check. 10 at once could adversely affect your credit rating, and you may well get rejected.

You can open an account with one or two banks. Then use internet banking to open up other accounts. You could have 2 current accounts, one at santander, one at natwest then open up 1 savings account on each to start with.

Thats 4 accounts to start with, which will keep you more than busy.

You are new to stealth so take things slowly, don't run before you can walk.

Thanks for the tip just_smile, When you say online banking do you mean one like smile.com? or a banks online application route?

would natwest for example know if i had an account with SMILE like they would if i had an account with a physical highstreet bank like santander?

Sorry for all the questions i like to know what im up against especially when dealing with financial institutions such as banks.

When you open a current account with a bank, you will receive your information for your online banking.

You can then sign in online and open more accounts via your online banking.

I've just realised you mentioned you are 17. I think you need to be 18 to open normal accounts so this may change things. Looking on natwest website as an example it shows you can have online banking at 17, so you may well be able to add more accounts the way I have mentioned. I would double check when you go in to the branch.

Thanks alot just_smile it really helps. I have an "appointment" tomorrow and i will get an account opened then.

I will probably make a few stores and pp's and only add a vcc to them and not my bank accounts just in case they don't last long.

That is if you can sell without being completely verifed

I would always completely verify the paypal before trying to sell on ebay.

just_smiles, im just curious as to how that would work wouldnt you burn through a ridiculous number of bank accounts if the paypals were to go down?

You will only lose accounts if you sell crap you shouldn't. Eg counterfit, vero, Intangible items.

You will not lose many ebay/paypals if you run accounts smoothly and stay away from what I've mentioned above.

oh ok thats good i dont intend on selling such items, lastly is it true you can be kicked off for selling too much too soon?

Haha i think im just naturally apologetic.

I havent actually been blacklisted i have a functional account running now its just that i saw this as an opportunity to increase my selling limits.

It's annoying, i spent 7 months making a list of 960 items that are profitable to dropship and i only have a slot of 100 to do it (more like 25 when you add in variations)

God damn you EBay without your traffic you'd be nothing! XD

Another question How do i go about providing the documents to increase my recieving limits?

Just use savings account with each current account, that way you would minimise the amount of banks you are using.

As for legalities - come on son, read the information presented on this forum, you know what you are doing :)

Wait paypal allows you to use saving accounts now? does a saving account come with every current account?

You can open online savings account immediately. Halifax, RBS, Natwest for a few.

Work fine for paypal. Bit of a work around needed for them, but work fine.

i must sound like a complete noob but i always thought you needed a security number.......................... oh wait, then you can just use a entropay/ vcc instead .........ooooooooooooooh i get it now!!

Alright so im ready to start, i will probably start 2moro and although i have the guide i may need all the help i can get.

I have a Reserve savings account with Natwest that i didnt realise i could use but i will use to make my first account.

Today i went round to natwest and made a second current account, the card will be delivered by the end of the week but if im right i dont need it because i can use an entropay one.

Any recommended phone forwarding services and fresh ip vpn accounts (preferably not 24vc its a tad expensive).

Mobile dongle and PRe pay sim and phone.

Easiest and cheapest to use to get going if its before you are earning enough to pay for the VPN and SOHO66 number

i've found some 1p sims idk if they're the right things, and i have a dual sim phone so i can just add one in there i think.... im not sure.

i don't mind buying a number from but both soho66 and voips website is so confusing its untrue tbh.
