INSANE Selling Allowance increase out of the blue...
 

Today, my main account which is the second I created and the one I use most just got a HUGE increase in selling allowances. It's legit-ish with the details so in the past I've been able to phone up and get it increased twice and was up to £14,000 a month.

I just got an email completely out of the blue from eBay saying my selling allowance had been increased to £140,000/6000 items each month! I think this honestly may be the first good news I've ever gotten from eBay, just wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this? I'm kiiiinda thinking it may have been some random mistake.

I received a few increases on a number of accounts overnight. Nothing quite that high but good increases.

Accounts that get crazy limits can be dangerous... only so much use unless your happy drawing a large amount of attention to yourself.

Great news however but dont forget to spread those sales out!

Mind you it was only on one account though.

There is no chance I can even sell anywhere near the limits given.

Would have liked to see it on a few more accounts

BDW my account was a business account and also have a shop account was opened a year ago last week.

Those of you have had limit increases could you please confirm type of accounts you have had and how long they've been running for

It's a business account and I've got a basic shop subscription, I would say it's been just about a year.

Similarly, had three large random increases over the last few days

650/11000 to 6500/118000
260/15000 to 2600/79000
700/5000 to 1600/11000

All stealth accounts, aged from 7 months to 10 months

I would say theres definitely something going on, presumably with the split, or for some other reason, eBay have determined it needs more goods listed on site.

It will no doubt be related to projected sales during the forthcoming festive season. The amount of listings on the site is directly related to the profit ebay make. No doubt current listings are behind last year or target hence the huge bumps in limits folk are getting.

Glad it's just not me for these types of increases there is no doubt there will be a reason behind it.

Folks I'd be very careful about pushing these accounts from day one. I'd list gradually and see where you are in three months. I've had these seemingly nice increases in the past and gone crazy listing early doors never a good idea.

FWIW Last time I did this I was zapped inside 2 days

Haha a few things to all the people saying "its a trap" ermmm I get that eBay can be arseholes, almost everyone on this forum will have been a victim of it at some point... but CHIIIIIILL OUT with the insane conspiracy theories haha, do you reeeaaally think that eBay are conspiring to trick or trap random sellers for the fun of it?

I think some people on this forum get the tiniest bit carried away with the whole "ebay is evil, ebay is the enemy" line of thinking, they are at the end of the day just a business, an enormous one, and the more we can sell the more money they can make.

I've got about 4 accounts I use regularly, this is my main and oldest one so I'm really not too worried about it, I'll just keep doing what I've been doing. I've been able to list some stuff a bit earlier, but I couldn't list £140,000 worth of stuff on one of my accounts even if I wanted to.

Couple accounts got x10 lifts

eBay increased my limit from 400 to 7000 items and then they blocked my 3 year old account 5 days later.
Cannot trust eBay.

I've had a 10x lift recently, was on a 8 month business stealth.
