Barclays saver accounts no longer accepted?
 

So barclays saver not being added on to Paypal account, apparently when paypal emailed back, they said saver accounts no longer supported.

Anyone else having same problem?

Were they the words,or was it the "your bank has rejected the direct debit" thing

What is the message you are getting when you add the bank account to paypal?

Yes paypal will tell you they dont accept savings accounts.

It said something along the lines this account doesn't accept electronic funds etc. So cannot be used. I have the same account type attached to another paypal. Thats what makes it weird.

Is it a easy saver or everyday saver? Or a ISA?

Did you add the bank and then receive that email a few days later or have you been blocked from adding the bank account in the first place?

You're opening post does suggest it was blocked from being added at all but please confirm this.

I attached two Barclays savers last night, and withdrew to one today, money in instantly, how odd

Barclays do have about twenty different saving accounts, maybe one type dosent allow external deposits?

I also use barclays savers perfrctly fine. Which is why i think its the type of savings used.

Its everday saver
Blocked from being added first time
Called paypal earlier today, agent could not add
Apparently new policy, no savings account on paypal. Must be current account.
Savings completely new, never been used with paypal before, paypal agent confirmed this.

i too have same type of savings with barclays added to my other stealth, no problems.

Strange how this is giving issues.

Did you wait at least 24-48 hours before adding this account? As they do need time to set up... even though you do get the details straight away?

Well this could be inconvenient if that is a true new policy of no savers.

Paypal have always said they dont accept savers.. even though it does add to accounts.

PayPal have never accepted savers as B has said.

Adding it via the withdraw screen has always been preferrable. Adding it via the normal bank account screen has always caused issues.

maybe with Barclays.. Firstdirect and Halifax online savers have always worked fine with me.

You need to leave it a couple of days for the account to be finalised before submitting even though you get the account details straight away

Barclays everyday saver worked today for me, brand new account, no hassle.
