Parcel classification large letter or parcel

I have got this item I sell on ebay, as small as a roll on or small tooth paste. It is only 30g or less than 50g. I sell for £1 or even less.

This is not a letter but an item quite small. Even if I classify as small parcel it cost £2.50 to ship. If I classify as Small or large letter its obviously not a letter.

But it does not make sense to ship this item for £2.50.

What is the way round to this?

If you post this large letter - thickness has to be under 2.5 cm -cost around 54 pence (ish) anything above this is the small parcel size

Pop it in a padded envelope OR preferably a small mailing bag (it's thinner) and next time you are in the Post Office ask them to check how much it ill costs to post. They'll have a board to check it's thickness.

use a stamp if it doesn't fit and straight in the post box. Or get PPI, everything is a large letter then :)

Be careful, if you underpay on parcels the RECEIVER will fit the bill.

If is under 25mm thick and weighs less than 100g then it is classed as a large letter - anything above this is a small parcel

Thanks guys. It is only 30Gram and like 23MM thick. However it could scale above 25mm when packed. My franking macine arrives later this week though and I think it'll automatically quote the price when scaled. So no need to worry

Do you use a padded envelope? And if so do you have to? could you use a plastic mailing bag?

I am still trying to make a choice. Plastic bag would have been better but from experience some product get spoilt, spilled before it gets to the customer.

Marking them as fragile does not make a difference either

Where have you got that price for large letter?

Re: Parcel classification large letter or parcel

you can remove packing and flatten if it is soft, packaging and instructions can go in the envelope alongside it, as long as you mention in advert that you may do this, pack it so it is under 2.5, but if it is too thick then you need to discard this product.

I have had loads of low-cost products I wanted to sell but couldnt due to this issue...
