Hi guys, hope you're all making some money !

Got 2 questions for you, feel free to post or PM me

1) DOes entropay work to verify Paypal?
I used it a while back and it worked fine. Recently, I slammed on 7 diff entropay cards over 2 accounts and paypal doesnt recognise them. Any info/ways round this this?


2) For phone verification does anyone know of any FREE (or almost free) UK geographical VOIP providers which allow INCOMING calls for verification?

Virtual ones would be ideal.



P.S. Please lets not get carried away with topics not related to the thread.
I would like to keep the thread uncontaminated with bragging-stories/untested hypothesis/ so we distill with answers which others can refer to in the future.

ok, hi cortex, I usually try and answer questions on uk forum, but Im completely ignorant on voip, and ignored all posts on it, because when initially joined forum a few months back posters were saying voip doesnt work and skype is owned by ebay etc. BUT recently many posters have said it
works, one member has tried the company below and confirms it was working when they tried it, its the cheapest Ive seen ;

Ok, to show my ignorance, tell me what eqipment I need, cheapest option.
Am I correct i download software, which one? Can i use my existing phone and just buy a router that plugs in to normal phone and broadband connection, which router? Anything else needed?

Back cortex questions, Ive had same experience with entropay, about 4 accounts went through fine on ebay/pp confirmation, but after that came to a standstill, I have decided to give it a few weeks, as its possilby due to hammering the account too much and confusing the addresses. If you are in a hurry for pp, spend a bit more and go for 3v voucher, they are confirmed as working right now.

I have just opened an account with Voipfone (using new name and address) and have tried to purchase new telephone numbers to use for UK eBay verification. However, as from September 2008, it appears that you must now register your details with the emergency services (you do this online on the Voipfone site) before you can use their services and if they are found to be incorrect your account will be suspended. Has anybody had any problems with this when using ⊗⊗⊗⊗ personal details and address? I am wary about giving out my own details and would prefer not to do this if possible. If anybody could help me I would be ever so grateful.

Hows the VOIP company doing for you? Has it worked to verify your ebay sellers account or your paypal account?

Maybe I am going soft but I believe the heading of this thread was about phone verification (and also Entropay)??? Previous posters have commented on voipfone (for phone verification) and I was just wondering whether any other UK users had experienced any issues with regards to Voipfone's new policy with regards to checking the data provided to them.

I have used Voipfone earlier this year to verify for eBay. Rather than download their free software I just arranged for the virtual number to be diverted onto my mobile. When eBay called I then simply used the tones from another mobile in a similar way to how you verify using the Payphone method posted elsewhere in this forum. Simple!!!!

Ok, will try your voipfone method at some point and post on how it went.

entropay is working, just leave address on for 3 days b4 use,

I read a post by oompaloompa regarding a vcc that is owned by one of the forum members which is said to be working fine giving email confirmation of the expuse number. You could use that service.

We can confirm that you can use an EntroPay Virtual Card with Pay Pal. However, please make sure that Pay Pal accepts registrations from the country in which you are presently located. We do have a number of clients who use EntroPay with Pay Pal and in most of the cases they do not encounter problems.

Also, be sure to have a few pounds loaded onto the card. Otherwise it will not work.

once you have open your account with entropay, when do you need to change your details from real to ⊗⊗⊗⊗?

You use your own name to create the entropay account. Then the VCC is in a name to match paypal account. Make the VCC B4 you make the paypal account

You cannot change the name on VCC and entropay account but you can change address to match Paypal acc.

As I know you can only change the address on entropay account but not name. However, when you creat VCC you can name it whatever you want.

When I register with entropay I register with my real details. If I want to creat new ebay account and need VCC to verify. I will have to creat new VCC with entropay. Then they ask what you want to name the card (I am sure this part is the misunderstanding*). After the VCC is created, I will have to change address on entropay account to match ebay account before I use the card to verify.(still need to wait at least 3 days. do not use the card to verify immedietly)

OK. From * above, I think Greenbean has mentioned about this part. but I misunderstood that. I thought she meant "changing the name on the account". It's my fault.
