Paypal Dispute Escalation

Just had a person from ebay buyer open a PayPal dispute, first email 'I got was your dispute has been escalated to a claim'.

The guy had bought the item on ebay, a newbie, opened the a day before he bought my item, no feedback, etc, item sent to Belgium, claims it wasnt as described (which it was but he was trying to fit it to the wrong vehicle which he has proven by his photos he sent), kept communicating in French, After explaining I wasnt French I tried Google translate for my responses, couldnt understand anything he was saying, then next day the PayPal dispute.

He never opened a dispute, it just went straight to a claim.

How does one open a dispute and go straight to a claim? I thought it took time for it or when a response was made?

Do you have the tracking number?

If he claimed the item was not described, then the item needed to be returned. Once item returned to you, he will get the money he paid.

So take it easy and set your EBAY preferences to block new buyers.

It isnt my first rodeo but thanks :thumb:

Cant block new buyers on ebay.co.uk

Im aware of the process, I was curious about how a paypal escalation can happen in minutes. Happened again today, paypal request more info from buyer, within 3 minutes, approved asking for it to be returned.

Item was correct. Buyer bought the wrong one but being in Belgium I shouldnt be returned his postal money because it was buyer error, however typical 'item not as described'..but nothing from eBay, just PayPal.
