PayPal 180 Day Hold

I have never had PayPal account with money in it get suspended and a question regarding one line in their notice of appeal refusal always had me worried.

"After 180 days, we may ask you to provide us with a proof of identity and a proof of address before you can withdraw any remaining balance."

Has anyone experienced or heard of instances where they refused to allow withdrawal after 180 days because they were not happy with docs? Or do they always give it back?

They do not have to give it back, no. That is exactly why they put that line in there to cover themselves.

Its the , 'we will see how we feel on the day, if the EE office hasn't made its theft targets, then you will never see your money again!'

Yes, but unlike the OP, you aren't stealing people's identity when making Paypal accounts.

He had the lack of intelligence to announce to the forum last night what he does.

That is what you assumed....

What I actually said was the details I was using got me through the PayPal details check and they did not ask for documents in July. And I specifically mentioned that dates of birth did not matter....But something changed in September as it does not work the same way or at least it seems to me.

Did you ask me who's details I used. My own? My fathers? Sisters? Brothers?

Yes which means you were using real details otherwise those checks would NOT of worked.

You are still using a name and an address that match to an real person, that is identity theft and you have openly just admitted it again.

You have changed your tune, you admitted as well you were setting up 'all of my stealth accounts I use a name and address that would match and that would automatically pass the checks' - ID theft.

It seems people on this forum enjoy going off on a tangent of their own without reading what people post...

But I have read what you posted and you are clearly doing identity theft..do you understand yourself what you are doing?

If you'd been using relatives' details you'd have known their dates of birth.

We all know what you've been doing so just cut the cr@p.

Given the content of the post that was removed, you should be more concerned about the police turning up at your door rather than concerning yourself about Paypal holding funds.

The electronic ID checks were taken offline mid-July, presumably because they realised the system was being exploited by folk like you. At the moment, ALL accounts are required to submit documents to lift the receiving limit. I'd imagine it will be updated so that only the exact dob will pass, making it much harder for people to commit ID theft.

Paypal have told this to several members.

All UK accounts set up at the moment are requiring documents to lift the receiving limit.

I am only surmising at the reason why it was taken offline.

It is definitely correct.

The change to details check also aligns perfectly with the date when eBay and PayPal formally split and started trading stocks separately.
