Drop shipping always carries greater risk especially with ebays strict DSR on customer feedback. though Im puzzled what either has to do with you finding the right product?
i have a bad experience with drop-shipping. The downfall is that you cannot monitor the quality of the items. My supplier knew I was drop-shipping and I think he was sending low quality items b/c he knew I wasn't seeing the items first.
I started getting a lot of customer complaints so I stopped drop-shipping and never looked back.

Do most Dropshippers use a company based in their own country? I ask as I get the impression there are some from U.K. who use companies in China. I ordered an item from China recently which took 20 days to get to me. I wondered how a dropshipper justified the long delivery time.
That's just it, when you dropship, you give the supplier "control over your destiny". If they do anything wrong, it effects you, not them. They ship late, bad quality, don't give you the tracking info, etc.
I like to have all my items come to me so I can do a thorough quality inspection first.
