Trouble adding new bank account to PayPal Account
 

I'm having issues adding a new bank account to my fully verified Paypal account that I've had for like over a year now.

First it asked me to verify my account with a phone call which I couldn't do as it was a made up phone number I used.

So I changed the phone number to one I can currently use.

Then when I tried to add the bank account again it came up with an error that I can't add it right now.

I have a feeling that this is some type of security lock after changing the phone number.

But how long should I wait to try and add the bank account again ?

Hope you add a brand-new-never-used-on-PayPal telephone number right?

You can contact paypal via the message centre within your paypal account and explain you having a problem adding a bank account.

You will get an auto response email +-10-20 mins later and you will need to reply to that as well and they will hopefully resolve it for you without calling.

I have done it a few times like this lately.

Is there any money in the account?

Login to PayPal, click Withdraw Money, then add the bank account in that section and dont submit the DD mandate...post results here, it's worked well in the past for this issue.

I don't want eyes on my paypal account. I want to resolve this issue by my self if I can. With no eyes.

I've just tried that and it's still giving me :

The PayPal server is currently experiencing some difficulties. Please try again or try to contact customer service.

Well sadly you have to talk to paypal some way.

This wont go away by itself.

I agree with Bunneh. You have to get in touch with them I guess.

You probably triggered some security check by attempting a new bank account and then trying to change the phone number.

I had the same problem before.

Lesson learned.... never use ⊗⊗⊗⊗ telephone number or let the number go in-active. For eBay it does not matter, but if you have a serious PayPal account then its critical.

They may ask you credit history related questions... when you call them..
