2 items sent in one box
 

Is it wise to send multiple items in one box as the buyer can then say there was only one item in the box and u are screwed

I do this all the time, buyers buy maybe 3 or 5 items, i send them all in one package to save on postage costs, and i have never had a complaint.

You have a tracking number. You would use that number for proof of delivery for both items.

You run the same risk of people claiming the package was empty even if you send items one by one.

I send two or more only ever had one complaint, a guy said I sent one when I sent two, he opened a case claiming this. I send my items tracked he'd signed for it and I checked the weight of the parcel and that confirmed two had been sent. Let Ebay know this that I have a receipt to prove there was two items (because of the weight)and the case was awarded in my favour.

I sent items in a box. Until now there is no issue with buyer.

Keep the posting receipt to show the weight. You may get the ' there was only one in the box' rubbish, only happened once to me, but it happens...

Too true.

Up to now, this week, I could of put in about 15 INR's for things i've bought totalling over £500. Could of been Christmas for free in my house. People really need to start using Recorded services - I know they aint 100% but its definitely better that no proof of delivery.

this happened me once they messaged me a pic of ripped bag with no royal mail apology note from them saying sorry destroying the parcel, and said they only got one item in the bag (yeah right)
anyway if they are scumbags sure they will do it anyways like the boys above said, karma will get them someday if they do that

i use myHermes and proof of delivery every time but that was not the question
I had a buyer claim there was one item in the box not 2 and I am sure i sent 2 and I don't see a weight on the receipt because i weigh my own stuff only if im not sure and its heavy but most go out at 1 kilo or less

i do it . i never thought about how it could become an issue. the package weight is usually around double when sending 2 items so you could at least point to that. why would you pay for more postage but only send 1 item.

The question is are you willing to pay the extra postage. Why don't you just send the items you sell 2 or 3 of with Royal Mail then you have the weight on the receipt. Bit more expensive but saves you this hassle now. Personally I wouldn't use Hermes, cheapest I think but I use to work for them,not good for issues like this and getting signatures. The couriers are paid by the parcel (some paid well others not) on a self employed basis. Some don't give a s**t

funny this post came up as i had buyer claim exactly this today, finished their barely readable sentence with 'honest ebayer'. I have added the tracking number for each item to ebay and will not be refunding them

it never occurred to me not to send them both together...

in fact when I get x2 sales together, I make a few £ extra as I always factor in postage, so I save on 1 of them.

I will be weighing and photographing all orders with 2 or more in the same parcel to combat any fraud from now on :brushteeth:

the only problem with this is you will get bad feedback and still ebay may refund the buyer :faint:

I had royal mail parcels cut open with a Stanley knife last year and stuff removed so they are not perfect :doh:

I answered how to combat this situation in post 3.

I repeat... If TRACKING shows as DELIVERED then you will win any case for item not received. This includes 'missing' items from a package.

If a buyer claims an item is missing. Then you take it on a case by case basis. Sometimes they are telling the truth. Packages can become damaged in transit. You then make the decision to send a replacement or not.
