21 day hold
 

Hi

I have recently started selling on Ebay again and got the 21 day hold, I was wondering what people's experiences are with when the money gets released if marked as shipped?

Usually if you add tracking it will be reduced to 5/6 days

According to ebay and paypal the funds get released within 3 days of them being able to confirm it was delivered.

When I use Priority (2-3 day) shipping and upload tracking/post parcel immediately, I get the funds in 4 days a lot of the time.

Thanks for replies, most of the items are cheap so I sent without tracking, and mark the order as "Order processed" as Paypal recommend you do with items that are sent without tracking. Anybody have experience of that?

If you want a strong account, you have to spend a little bit of money for tracking to show ebay/paypal that you are shipping your items in a timely manner and you are therefore to be trusted in the longterm.

Mark is as dispatched on eBay and you still get the holds reduced to 6/7 days approx (depending on which postal service you have used)

I'm sending items via tracked post and it's been a week now and only 1 items payment hold has been released 2 days ago and that was because the item was delivered and the buyer left positive feedback. The other items that have been delivered (checked Royal Mail website manually) show in eBay as "Delivery Info Received" only.

Is this normal?

It depends on your dispatch time

eBay has rules outlining exactly when holds are released

'Seller prints tracking label on eBay, or uses another carrier that provides tracking information, then manually enters postage tracking information on eBay - Funds held for estimated delivery date + 3 days'

My dispatch time is 1 working day. I guess I will wait and see how long the holds take to be released.
