I am happy to report that the new Santander basic bank account works well. I have opened and verified two new PP accounts, one using the top-up debit card account number and the other using the basic bank account number.
So, open one account and it gives you two account numbers and they can both be used.
 | so you can use Santanders basic accounts top up card to open and verify a new stealth paypal account ? |

I personally have never had any issues with using Halifax bank accounts but there are some forum members that have. The main issues they had were (1) mismatching names and (2) personal accounts being used for business purposes.
Any bank is capable of causing a problem with both the above but in the vast majority of cases they never bother to do anything. |

| DankMemes420 | 04-27-2018 02:42 AM | Re: Nine UK banks launch fee-free accounts I use lloyds personally and they're fine
I've opened a bunch of bank accounts
if I register more stealths will it work if I use mismatched name?
from what others are saying, if you use lloyds or halifax it's bad.
but santander doesn't mind mismatched names as long as account number and sort code are fine?
Is that it? |

Is that it? | Lloyds are fine until they are not and they lock all the accounts.
I would just avoid them. There are so many banks out there why take the risk? |

| Stealthebay | 05-27-2018 05:31 AM | Re: Nine UK banks launch fee-free accounts Thats a great list.
I have been with Halifax for years and they are kinda very good.
Llyods can be funny at times.
Otherwise rest are Solid |

Yorkshire and Clydesdale Banks Readycash Account
- it can not be opened directly ie you have to go through the long process of opening a normal current account and then if you fail to get a normal current account, then they offer you a Readycash account. |
| Ragnar | 07-23-2018 03:15 PM | Re: Nine UK banks launch fee-free accounts Halifax actually now state in the transfer section of their site that the account name isn't checked. Lloyds is the same. |

| JamesNorth101 | 07-23-2018 04:52 PM | Re: Nine UK banks launch fee-free accounts Yep that has always been the same
Its just the bank staying that if your sending it to the wrong person they are not responsible |

| Yes, they can. It tends to only become an issue when your bank account is manually reviewed. |

When I use Natwest, everything is supplied straightaway apart from the debit card and PIN. | Don’t Santandar offer via online banking the opportunity to open up other basic or saver accounts instantly? So if one ever gets closed down just go open up another for a new ebay/ppal |

So if one ever gets closed down just go open up another for a new ebay/ppal | Once you have the account you will be able to open up savers online. You can only have one basic account with them. The beauty of the Santander basic account is the fact you have two cards with it and they have different account numbers on them, one for operating the account and one spending. I have successfully used these account numbers on two different paypals and can confirm there has been no problem receiving funds into them. It is like the Santander account has two halves to it.
I believe all the banks are now stating you can only have one basic account with them. I have four basic accounts with NatWest, though they were opened a few years ago now, all opened online.
