Router swapping to change IP address

Is this the easiest way?

So if I buy the exact same router which I'm currently buying just so I can use same cables and power plug etc will the new router just plug right in and give a new IP address

Thanks

Potentially..

Personally I change my current router's MAC address and reset my broadband modem to get a new IP address. Swapping out your router does the same thing. It was only mentioned in eBay Stealth because it's dead easy for the non-techie people to understand.

I think it depends on your ISP.

Have you tried just switching your current one off and then back on again?

It might change IP. Mine does. I am with BT but have infinity.

But the idea is to keep the same IP per account

So if it changes IP every time switch modem on and off it will keep giving random IP address which not good for stealth

So long as you have cookies in place then IP changing is fine

If you want to keep the same IP then your going to need either a VPN/VPS or to look at virgin media

Ok so using user accounts is fine and don't need another computer

Yep for eBay and PayPal that is fine. Just make sure you tack the IP address and keep cookies

My ISp is givin me dynamic IP but they say each time you connect to the Internet address you will get a new IP address

So am I supposed to keep the same IP address for each account ?

What router and broadband do you have? simply its best to quickly change your IP address through settings if allowed and then keep cookies on each account - this is based on sky broadband

Don't worry about dynamic IPs. Ebay and Paypal obviously know about it as its more cost effective for them to issue dynamic IPs and it reduces the chances of your computer getting hacked.

Think about all the millions of millions of Ebay users in the UK if that was an issue everyone would be getting banned.

Just make sure you keep LSOs and normal cookies and you should be fine.

User220 12-28-2015 06:10 PM

Sorry what is LSOs?

I actually may have a dynamic or semi static IP as I've read from other reviews that my isp or most fibe broadband have a dynamic IP but by reset router it does not change

If that is the case then maybe router swapping is the way ?

It doesnt matter if its a different IP every time you change the IP, as long as the IP has never been used on any of your other accounts than it is good.

Just have a separate user account for your stealth accounts, and your keeping cookies from ebay/paypal and not wiping everything clean every time you log out.
