anybody ???

I know you are looking for a positive answer, but in all the years and all the multiple accounts and the thousands of sales, I have accepted other merchants option for, not one buyer has bought using it, not sure why, perhaps dont truct it, they either go for paypal in the main or occasionally cheque/postal.

protx is a processer which accepts paypal and all other credit cards

so is there a way i can incoparate to my ebay accounts

in theory protx can work but in practice, it doesnt. Firstly you dont overcome the verified paypal problem in the Uk as you must be linked to paypal to sell and a buyer will also followhe ebay link to paypal .
secondly, if you are trying to steer buyers towards merchant accounts you can accept under that option on your listing, but you wont get many takers, if you dont believe me just try it for a while.

Bottom line is you cant bypass paypal now.

Sorry, I disagree with some of the above. I've been offering card payments for a number of years and people do choose it about 25% of the time. It must just depend on how you're offering it to them?

oompaloompa 02-25-2009 01:28 PM

Id kill for 25%, how do you present it exactly, any tips?

Customers complete checkout for their item through my web site, which gives them the option of paying through paypal, credit / debit card (protx) or cheques / postal orders. I find a LOT of people won't use paypal due to a bad experience previously, or don't want to "sign up" to paypal (although it's not a requirement, paypal is widely considered as a membership type site rather than a one off payment). I also get a lot of people who end up paying by "eCheque" without knowing it, and want the payment refunding and pay by card instead so they can get their items faster.

Plus everyone knows that paypal are hugely more expensive than a merchant account - despite what they may tell you, and what nice little diagrams they may show you!
