Should I send a copy of my passport and utilities bill to EBAY to get reinstated
 

Hi all,

I am new here. I found this forum in google. Ok, back to my story.
I am 22 years old Chinese student in UK. January, last year ebay suspended my account because of the VERO things.Then they asked me to provide ID,Bills, Invoice to prove that I have items instock, and else to get back on ebay but I did not send anything to them because I didnt have invoice. Also I read some forum and they said "do not send your passport to ebay otherwise you will be suspended forever" so I decided not to send.

Now it's just 12 months after my account has been suspended. So I emailed to ebay to ask if they can reinstate my account or suggest what I have to do to get my account reinstated. Today I got the reply from them that they need me to send

1 Passport or driving license.
2 Bills, to prove that I live in that address.

which is good because I dont need to provide more document as before. but I need to provide my real passport and real bills. So they will know I am a student.

However I still want some suggestion. Should I send them a copy of my passport and bills?

why am I asking??
-because I am not sure if I(chinese student who is not a resident in UK) am allowed to sell on ebay. I have been living in UK for 4 years already as a student but still not sure if I am allowed to "sell" on ebay.
-My account got 200+ feedbacks which is all positive (100% positive+). So I dont want to waste it really.


I have read thru the forum and find out that we can creat new account with bogus name and address. That is a good Idea so I can start trading on ebay again. However I still need your suggestion on my suspended account. Thank you all!!!

you are allowed to sell on ebay.

You should try and get reinstated, by sending docs, if you dont suceed, set up a stealth account, either completely false details or using your own slightly altered details, or a friend/relatives.

And dont worry, when one account goes down, set up another and keep moving...

Yeh, sort of agree...if you stand still you'll never get back on. It is always better to have a legitimate account, so give it a try, they can only say no, and for various random reasons they may very well say just that.But the bottom line is, at least you will know,and at least you can move on and get a stealth account. Remember though, even if you do send your details in they still may not re-instate your account, so they will now have all your legitimate details and you are no further forward. STEALTH may just be the way to go.....

If you dont care to pass your personal details to eBay, it's fine. I did post my passport and bank statement/ bills to eBay to get my account back. :snicker:
