Selling on Ebay.com and Ebay.co.uk
 

Hi

I'm moving out to America shortly. I know you are in the global sales market but that is limiting as it would show the address as UK.

When I try to register myself on ebay.com using my American address it states:

Please fix the errors highlighted in the fields below:

Postal code
Your city, state, and postal code do not match.

Obviously its a zip code and is correct. I've tried ebay's address in US just to see if it was my zip code but still an issue.

Is it not allowing me because it recognises my UK IP and getting confused?

I basically want to continue to sell on UK with my UK address but also now US but with my US address. I'm happy to set up a different account

You'd be best to wait until you are actually in the US before setting up a US account.

Alternatively use a decent US VPN to create the US account. 24vc.com is the best and most recommended VPN to use.

It's a bad idea to try and create a US account on a UK IP.

Why is a bad idea to set up a US account on a UK IP - out of interest. Is it just getting it registered.

I am there in a couple of weeks but coming back again for a few months to the UK. Could I set it up in the US and then when back still maintain it? (my partner is based at the US address currently?
