Confused about address (self-employed)
 

I would like to start selling on eBay as self-employed (electronics, laptops, perfumes, differentiated products and suppliers from different countries). Maybe in the future I will decide to set a LTD company. I understand that a good solution is eBay business account as Sole Trader and PayPal Premier Account.

Currently I have eBay account where the selling is banned but I can make purchases of goods and I want it to remain so (of course I don’t want to link these accounts).

I would like to buy VPN dedicated IP clean address and use it on new eBay account whereas on the old one to purchase goods I would use different IP as I am doing it at present.

Currently I am living in a shared house in the UK that’s why I don’t know if I can use this address to register as self-employed on eBay and PayPal. I wonder what if PayPal requires my ID to verify the account? May it be a problem to successful verification that on my ID is old residence address from another country?

I am asking because I don’t know if in this case rent mailbox will be required?

I forgot to add that all will be fully legal so I dont think about stealth account yet. Anyway all details will be different than these in old banned account.

Yes this is a good start - if you're a business, trading as a business then always best to act like one and run the eBay as is. Premier PayPal is also fine.

Look at 24vc on the forum, one of the sellers sells the VPN connections. Google will have a lot that are abused.


You register with HMRC at the address you are living and tell them you are now self employed. You need to look at possibly finding another address (either a random one OR preferably one you can access that doesn't already have eBay accounts attached to it). ID requirements can easily be bypassed with some creativity.

You cannot use a mailbox as a registration address, only as a returns address.

That's the problem because I dont have any idea if this address as well as other possible addresses were used before to register ebay/paypal account.
That's a little bit weird because many people rent rooms or flats in the uk so it would be possible to choose already banned address someday
So in this case it wont be necessary. Return addres can be the same as a home address. I dont have a problem with that.

EBay/paypal don't ban people on the address alone.

They know people move.

You may choose a 'hot' address that has just had someone banned, but that is extremely unlikely.

If a 'hot address' was used more chance of an MC113 or MC999 for documents to be sent in to confirm its not the same user.
