eBay seller didnt post my item

purchased an item on ebay a few days ago paid by using credit card , seller didnt respond nothing after payment, and when I tried to open a case ebay says: we cant process your request at this time beause your purchase this item as a paypal guest and will need to contact paypal directly by going through their resolution centre.

can I contact my credit card company for charge back? which is easier? thanks

OP used guest checkout though. Im sure a call to PP will sort it and you would get funds back. I had similar experience using guest checkout few weeks ago seller never sent me item, I presume because I was just a guest. Few emails and no response until I said ill leave negative feedback, sure enough my item arrived tracked next day.

As the other 2 have said, open a dispute through paypal, you will be ok there.

How long is a few days ago?

leslie888 02-20-2016 04:04 PM

Re: eBay seller didnt post my item

3 days ago, after I paid I have just received email with item number, is that enough for paypal to file a claim?

newjerseymax 02-20-2016 04:11 PM

Re: eBay seller didnt post my item

In the listing how long did it say it would take seller to ship item? 1,2 3,7,10 days?

There is also the weekend to consider. If they stated they ship in 2 days for example and it was Thursday later in the day the could easily still be within the time frame listed in auction.

Re: eBay seller didnt post my item

I don't understand, you purchased an item 3 days ago, and you want to open a chargeback? Why?

leslie888 02-20-2016 04:14 PM

Re: eBay seller didnt post my item

seller has no response since I have paid, worrying....

newjerseymax 02-20-2016 04:17 PM

Re: eBay seller didnt post my item

If the estimated delivery date has not passed I would not open a case. Maybe they just have not had a chance to upload the tracking number.

Again what was the sellers ship date?

leslie888 02-20-2016 04:20 PM

Re: eBay seller didnt post my item

diapatch within 2 working days, it has already pased.

17 feb, but what time did you pay? after the post office closed at 5pm?

What is the value of this item?

Not all sellers mark items as dispched, have you even messaged the seller?

Exactly what I was getting at.... Doesn't even have to be 5pm. What if the pickup is at say 2-3pm? You cant expect the seller to rush out that one package if the pick-up has passed. Saturday doesn't count as a working day.

Saturday does count as a postal day in the UK.

OP - seriously? maybe he got knocked over and has been in the hozzy for a couple of days! When is the due delivery date?

leslie888 why cant you answer simple questions but avoid them?

You do know that ebay estimated delivery is not always 100% spot on.

I really think you should TRY talking to your seller.

I agree completely.

Op, assuming.you are genuine, here's what you should do.

Contact your seller using the eBay messaging system, politely asking them if your item has been dispatched and when you can expect delivery.

Wait 48 hours. If no reply, Message again.

If you still do not receive any replies, and the final delivery date has been and gone, then you can open a case.

Yea in the US most people work on Saturday and Sundays, but its not officially a "working day" or "business day" as we call it.

I did find some interesting info about it though that I didn't know

United Kingdom

The traditional business working week is from Monday to Friday (35 to 40 hours depending on contract). In retail, and other fields such as healthcare, days off might be taken on any day of the week. Employers can make their employees work 7 days a week every week,[citation needed] although the employer is required to allow each employee breaks of either a continuous period of 24 hours every week or a continuous period of 48 hours every two weeks.

Laws for shop opening hours differ between Scotland and the rest of the UK. In England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, many shops and services are open on Saturdays and increasingly so on Sundays as well. In England and Wales, stores' maximum Sunday opening hours vary according to the total floor space of the store.[26] In Scotland, however, there is no restriction in law on shop opening hours on a Sunday.

Under the EU Working Time Directive, workers cannot be forced to work for more than 48 hours per week on average. However, the UK allows individuals to opt out if they so choose. Individuals can choose to opt in again after opting out, even if opting out was part of their employment contract. It is illegal to dismiss them or treat them unfairly for so doing – but they may be required to give up to 3 months notice to give the employer time to prepare, depending on what their employment contract says.[27

will wait a few days

Re: eBay seller didnt post my item

Sometimes, I not got access to my pc to update ebay tracking and even to mark it as dispatched for a few days - maybe this is what is happening with your seller.

Wait a few days.

My buyers receive their item on time and when I have access to my PC, I log in, mark as dispatched and answer any queries.

Yes but this is a UK Thread :)

The Post Office and Royal Mail class Saturday as a working day, hence eBays estimated arrival times.

Not everyone is on ebay 24 hours a day you know. Some people have a life, have a family, go away for a few days now and then....:peace:

TBH I never count Saturday as a 'working day' when estimating delivery.....my P.O may be open until 5pm but the last post is noon.

Re: eBay seller didnt post my item

If you paid with a credit card you have nothing to worry about, if you don't hear from the seller in a few more days just call your credit card company or most u can just go online and just do a chargeback online, that simple, no waiting for paypal claims. But wait a few more days, you wont lose your money

Re: eBay seller didnt post my item

OP, I would give the seller a chance to respond. This isn't like Amazon where the seller metrics are affected if he doesn't respond within 24 hours. Maybe he is using stealth and doesn't have access to the particular VM or something? If you're on this forum, I'm gonna assume that you're a stealther as well. It's been just 3 days, so wait! With Paypal you can open a dispute within 45 days and I'm sure your credit card company gives you up to three months to raise a chargeback...

Hope the seller responds and everything works out for you...

Saturday isn't a working day though, even if the posty is open mon-fri is working days and that's the time frames I use for shipping as well. so if someone was to buy at 8pm on Thursday chances are their order wouldn't be posted to Monday morning.

Saturday is a POSTING DAY and a DELIVERY DAY with Royal Mail, hence why your delivery estimates include Saturday as a working day.

If someone bought Thursday 8pm, and your dispatch time is 24 hours and cut off time is anywhere up to 4pm the next day then it should be posted that day. you set those rules yourself.

If he has dispatch time 'within three days', then possibly yes, it would be posted Monday.

Well I know some small post offices that open on a Saturday, but do not even have a collection that day, so anything taken in won't go until the Monday.
