I hope I can get some clarification from REAL & LEGIT businesses who use this forum..

I want to get back on Ebay as a real business.. My account was suspended 6 Years ago when the new DSR ratings came to force. My paypal was not suspended as is still going. I have not used if for years and I know it can't be linked to the new ebay account. So, it might as well be suspended. When this happened, I was left in debt which nearly took me under. It was my main income.

I don't want to go down the road of using a different name, and worrying about being asked to verify documents which I can't supply at a later date.

I was planning on changing my second name by DeedPoll for the last 10 years - long story. So now seems the perfect time.

Before, I go ahead I wanted to check if this would work for paypal and ebay:

1. I have new business address..
2. I used Dongle for broadband as a rule
3. New user account on Windows for each account
4. New Bank Account
5. New Name by deed poll
6. Utility bill in the new name and business address.
7. I have bespoke software for Ebay listing so changing title, descriptions, using a new server for images and so on is not a problem.

Would this work and would I need a new personal address as well or will business address be sufficient?

2 - Perfect
3 - Also good
4 - Which bank?
5 - Not needed really but if you are planning to do that anyway no harm
6 - That will be needed later
7 - So long as it does not link you then that is pretty handy

The problem with this plan is it does limited you to a single account. If that account gets limited you are back to square 1 again

If you were to change your name by deed poll it isn't really a clean slate and fresh start as your 'previous name' will always show on your credit file and link your past.

The problem here is by doing it your way you will only be opening one account, which wouldn't be a stealth. In the real world it is better to have at least a few accounts going for back up, so you never end up in the situation you were previously.

Thank you for your replies..

I know stealth is recommended but I really don't want the hassle of being asked for documents which can't be provided. To set up a new account takes weeks even months due to the amount of stock I can provide.

I am not worried about being suspended again. I know this sounds a little big headed. As it's high volume I can manipulate DSR ratings through my own methods. I always plan ahead, and have tactics in place which can pull the account out of trouble. Well, assuming Ebay don't make even more dramatic changes in the coming years.

PS: Realdeals: I know new name does not give you a new credit file, but I don't plan for paypal or ebay to be checking this. I assume this is possible if the real documents are provided for verification? Or do they still check the credit file?

Any more tips from anyone?

PayPal can and do check your credit record

I do not think that they would see a previous name though (although I could well be wrong)

Seeing previous names on a credit check depends on which kind of credit report they pull.
Women who are married, there's always the maiden name.
Unmarried women or men, it also shows other names the person has gone by

Those would be on a full credit report though. I don't know if paypal does that
or if they do a simplified version.
