Tethering iPhone 6 (changing IP's)

Wherever I read about tethering a phone there is always a mention of recording IP's so they don't get used again - I assume this is for those of you with multiple accounts so if one gets brought down the linked ones don't follow suit? If not then what's the idea behind it? Thanks in advance!

That is pretty much it

If you have 4/5 accounts then you want to avoid using the same IP for the different accounts to prevent linking

It helps reduce risk

If you have 1 account and you get limited then you have to start from scratch again

If you have 3 or 4 accounts then 1 being limited is not as big a blow
