Barry is there any reason why you can't use Santander?
They are pretty solid for stealth. |

Barry was lucky enough to get a 'warning' from Halifax about using his curent accounts for business.....therefore I really wouldn't recommend the Halifax route as he already has 6 existing accounts......or the TSB route. | Just to be clear, my other 5 accounts with halifax are not used on paypal, only my main current account. Not sure if this makes a difference. I thought I would just try adding a second account from halifax to take the heat away from the account they had flagged, hence the start of this thread. |

They are pretty solid for stealth. | I don't really need to set up another bank account, the OP is all about the deposits going in to my chosen new accounts and the 4 digit code not showing for some reason on the statement to enable me to verify.
In summary, all I need to know is why the 4 digit codes are not showing on the deposits that paypal put into my newly added accounts ? |

If Halifax has called you by phone concerned about the volume of cash going into one of your accounts.....I can assure you their concern also stretches to the other 5 accounts as well. ;) |

If they cannot wait 3/4 days and repeat. If they can still not see if you may need to ask PayPal to resend the code. |
| barry502 | 04-10-2016 04:02 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification OK, So do I pursue the TSB option ?
Is it worth calling TSB and asking what the paypal withdrawals are coming in as ? Name or company name.....
Any advice ? |

.....it is TSB!!!!!
So it is NOT all you need to know.
What good is getting the 4 digit code today or tomorrow going to be if you get your account shut in a month or two?:noidea: |
| JamesNorth101 | 04-10-2016 04:04 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification If the trading name on the PayPal account is XXXXX
If the bank account is trading under the same name XXXXX
Then you can add the TSB bank.
Then withdraw to the TSB bank from the PayPal
Then phone TSB to ask what name the deposit came in under. If it is XXXXX then your fine. If it is YYYYYY then I would just used a Santander bank account instead to be safe. |
| barry502 | 04-10-2016 04:07 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification OK Thanks for all the advice, so what is the best course of action here in your opinions ?
I have a good paypal account with one bank account which has been flagged (so cant withdraw into that now), and now has a further two bank accounts on it that I cant see the code........
This paypal account is linked with a fantastic ebay account that I have spent years building and it now has a substantial monthly selling limit........
Feeling a bit dejected........ |
| JamesNorth101 | 04-10-2016 04:09 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification Only you can decide. I would forget the other Halifax account you tried to add though
Go down the TSB business account route and see what TSB say. |
| barry502 | 04-10-2016 04:10 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification I have already withdrawn money to the TSB account from my paypal and it worked fine. I am just concerned about some limits being put in place.
Sorry for all the confusion here...............
Why would my paypal account get shut down in a month or two ? Paypal have not been the issue, it is my actual bank that have been the issue.
Excuse my naivity here. |
| realdeals | 04-10-2016 04:11 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification What James said...
If your name is really close to a match on the TSB then it may enough. Just private message him and he will be able to give you a more informed answer....
If in ANY doubt go Santander.:typing: |

@barry502 - You just need to phone TSB tomorrow and ask what the incoming name on the deposit is from PayPal. If its the same as, or very very close to the trading name of the TSB bank account then you should be fine.
PayPal should be be a problem, but you do want to try to avoid adding lots more bank accounts. While its not really a problem, it is a bit odd and may trigger something (that is a total guess though) if you keep adding more and more bank accounts. |
| barry502 | 04-10-2016 04:15 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification OKEYDOKEY,
I will phone TSB to see if the transaction is in my company name, failing that, I will go Santander !
Thanks for all the advice guys, much appreciated.
It was you lot that got me back on ebay and pp many years back and I have not looked back - bloody annoyed that my bank are now the issue after all the hard work on ebay and pp.........hopefully get it sorted though :yar: |

Excuse my naivity here. | Just because it has gone through once doesn't mean it always will.
I just hate risk, I would rather go a route I know will have a higher percentage chance of working. Your accounts and your choice at the end of the day though. |
| barry502 | 04-10-2016 04:17 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification Thanks, but if I do have to go santander, I will have to set up a business account to match paypal - is that easy enough to do with santander ?
Or do I just set up a current account ? |
| JamesNorth101 | 04-10-2016 04:20 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification It would be best to stick to a business account if you go that route. You may have this issues 12 months down the line again otherwise. Its important to learn from this lesson. |

Assuming I do get a santander business account, will it be OK to add that to my paypal account ? That will mean that account will have 4 bank accounts on it.
Would you advise I manually remove the other bank accounts for this paypal account or just leave them there ? |
| JamesNorth101 | 04-10-2016 04:28 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification I would just just check with TSB first...
Then if the deposit is a total mismatch add in the Santander business accoun |
| barry502 | 04-10-2016 04:32 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification OK Will check tomorrow, thanks again.
Lastly, Maybe a silly question, but what do I say to TSB ?
Something along the lines of " I have a recent deposit from my paypal account and want to know what it came through as ?
Is there a standard way of asking without sounding totally dodgy ? |
| JamesNorth101 | 04-10-2016 04:34 PM | Re: Paypal code- 4 digit bank verification Asking it that way is fine
Just tell them you want to make sure PayPal have the correct trading name on file. |
