Add an address that you have access to as a delivery address at checkout. Do not change the registered account address. Do not use an address that has recently been suspended.

Firstly, I’ve finally taken the plunge and purchased the manual and am working my way through it now. Wished I’d done this a long time ago… Much better now being inside the circle :-)

I too will be focusing on ‘Buying only’ regards to getting back on ebay. I now need to extract from the manual the checklist of things from a ‘buying only’ perspective of which I am already gathering a number of questions e.g. does a ‘buyer only’ still need a new bank account set up? From what I can see already, for a ‘buyer only’, the biggest hassle is finding a new secure delivery address for the delivery of your items. The rest of my questions for another post…

A good discussion topic focused for ‘Buyers only’ would be very helpful as the elements required for ‘Selling’ can kind of confuse as to whether you need them for buying only, or not (maybe they are really one in the same). A table with two headings (Buying Only) and (Buy & Sell) with the relative elements listed under each one, would be nice - especially for a newbie as I am?

We really only focus on seller issues on this forum.

To answer your question, a bank account is not required if you are buying items. You just need a VCC with funds on it. Look into Entropay.

Forum was established for sellers.

As a buyer your methods are virtually the same.
Difference is YOU are sending funds and not receiving them.

Principles are the same.

Buying isnt really an issue, I set up buying accounts in my exact same details from when i got banned - just changed emailed addresses. Never had a problem at all in over five years.

But if I ever clicked that 'sell' button, things would change quite rapidly :)

Setting them up with stealth details is fine - just go to any supermarket and buy the VISA Gift Cards, register them in the stealth details and add this as the payment method at eBay Checkout.

I have a buying account, 'solely' for buying. Never go near sell. Bad call.

then I have accounts 'solely' for selling.

Thanks everyone for your words of clarification and also of encouragement.

Regards to creating a new paypal account for my new ebay ‘buying’ account, does paypal force you to add bank account details or can you create it with just a CC? Based on the fact that I will not be receiving selling funds into paypal, only paying out for purchases using your suggested CC approaches?

Does this paypal configuration mean that my paypal account will be in a ‘not validated’ state and if yes, will a ‘not validated’ paypal account exclude me from some sellers wanting to accept my bids or BINs?

The fewer stealth things I need to create the better and less likely I will mess things up.

Keeping it as simple as I can!

I have a similar question! I have a stealth account that is heating up nicely the past few weeks, really starting to move product... I currently have more than enough money in my PayPal balance to cover a small purchase and this account is linked to a real PO box that accepts packages... is there any risk on my end?

And I am even uber selective about what I purchase.

I never buy dates with Daniel Craig or items that sound too good to be true.

Not really if they PO box is in your real name and the account is in your real name

If the PO box is in your real name and the stealth account in another name then the PO box guys may not release the items to you. You would need to ask them though.
