Default Mobile Tethering

Hi all

I am just getting my bits together to create my first stealth account. I wondered whether it was possible to use my mobile for tethering. I have used this phone on 4g to access the ebay app so I am hesitant to use it to tether with no previous log of ip addresses. I am awaiting delivery of a dongle tho so just wondered whether I should just wait for that to arrive. Thoughts?

1 Delete ebay/paypal app
2 use your phone to tether
3 record the ip each time you tether

what exactly where you doing with the ebay app?

Thank you!

I'm a little addicted to the kerching of the app lol. But yeah, mainly it was used to keep up with sales or messages. The app has been deleted I just didn't want to risk a shiny new account if tethering was going to reuse an old ip address without my knowledge.

It would be risky to use this tether/ip for a recently suspended account.

As I expected, thank you. Will wait for dongle and proceed from there.

Of course don't rule it out for future use. Just right now I feel you might trigger something causing accounts to link.

Well if youve used the app on your phone to login to a suspended account then I advise you not to use that sim network unless you use a different operator. And delete the app

Post Re: Mobile Tethering

not sure about the risks re ebay app/pp being used on your tethering device..
From my personal experience (succesfull) i would defo use that device even for x2 acc's. You will get 2 different MAC address depending of tethering type - wireless or via usb cable. Surely as mentioned many times you better of make a notes of r IP everytime you connect specially with use of same provider..

Thank you. I think this is the issue. Having no previous record of IP logs I'm thinking it isn't worth the risk of tethering and risking my first stealth account. I am almost there now, few more days won't hurt me.

Dongle is a good option - how long until it arrives?

Even deleting the ebay app DOES NOT STOP the chance of linking.

You can never use the phone with the app again.

Do not think deleting will be OK. It is not, sadly

Please do not start an urban myth that deleting the app makes the mobile OK to use with a new stealth account.

This is not correct.

OP asked "I wondered whether it was possible to use my mobile for tethering."

Hence I said to delete the APP first. The use of the APP for stealth purposes should be avoided at all costs anyway. But point was, delete it before considering tethering.

You need different sim from different network that will solve the issue about ip. If you used the phone number on paypal or rbah then u can use that phone nunber nor that phone to use app ebay and paypal

This sounds like bad advice, couldnt quite understand what your saying anyway.

OP will be getting a dongle. Thread resolved.

Summary: Dont use ebay or paypal apps.

Yes thanks all for your input. Dongle should be here this week with banking details so should be up and browsing on a new user on my computer. I know one day I will look back and laugh but ebay and paypal have left a very nasty taste in my mouth. Thank goodness for this forum.

The point IS deleting the APP does not one thing to make the mobile OK to use with stealth.

When you have an APP and attempt to use it for tethering to ebay..

Internet IP > APP (captures IP) > Tethering
That links old account with any new account(s).

Whereas if you delete the app...

Internet IP > Tethering
No app. No IP captures. Low chance of linking.

However - I mentioned not to use this network for some time, because similarities of other factors can still link you. Use a dongle, and in a few months maybe come back to using this network again - but make sure to log IPs in future. Its not 100% certain to work, but you have a better chance of survival, so to speak.

However, if your stating that any traffic going through that phone could be compromised - could the OP not just reset back to factory settings?
