I actually came across this site somewhat accidentally while I was looking for something else, but I'm now interested in finding out more about using stealth. I'm not currently operating a business through E-Bay, but it's something i've been researching and I plan to start doing full-time in the next few weeks. Reading some of the stories on here is quite shocking as it appears many legitimate and honest sellers have been banned for absolutely no crime. I'm worried that this could happen to me, so I want to be pre-emptive in minimising any potential "damage".
So onto my question:
If I sold on two accounts, one without stealth for non risky items and the other with stealth for items that I'm worried could get flagged, would there be anything to let E-Bay/PayPal know about my main account if the stealth account got closed for whatever reason?
Thanks |
Re: What happens if your stealth shop gets closed? Concerning keeping the accounts separate, the answer is in the Stealth book. IP, Windows user accounts, similar listings, they could all link you. |

Thanks for responding but what I'm really asking is: if I followed the stealth guidelines to the letter to make a stealth account, and also had a normal non banned non stealth account, am I putting the legitimate account at any risk? |

The key is knowing how ebay link accounts. |

Thanks | So you're essentially asking how you can sell foo items and get away with it, and not let it affect your genuine account?
Wrong forum for that buddy. Those antics won't go down well here I am afraid. |

Wrong forum for that buddy. Those antics won't go down well here I am afraid. | Not sure how you got that from my post, the items i'm looking to sell use images sourced from the internet, mainly shutterstock, but all it takes is a few people(competition) to report something as a copyright infringement and I doubt E-Bay would care enough to check and see if it is indeed a legitimate infringement or not. I'm aware of many Etsy stores being shutdown for this reason, simply for even using quotes from Movies, Celebrities, etc, or referencing any brand names. |

Selling those sorts of items can lead to problems though as you know, so you would want to get 2/3 accounts going and rotate them |

If followed properly, your chances of getting linked are significantly minimised. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:46 AM. | |
