New 'Decline Return' Button Appeared?

Noticed this today, says if declined the return case will be closed.

Anyone used this yet? Can imagine it opens a new world of crap, but interested to see how it pans out after pressing it.

(Referring to business accounts only which have to accept returns)

Its been there for ages. It only appears when a return case is opened after a certain period of time. Once you click 'Decline Return', the case closes.

As Twisty said...

It really is optional whether you want to accept or not. Once declined, there isn't really much the buyer can do as case gets closed immediately.

In my experience I have never had a buyer contact me after declining the request.

How long do you have to wait to get the Decline button?

Usually appears as soon as the item is outside of the returns window.

If your TRS.. 30 days is your returns window, someone tries filing a request lets say 45 days later, that button will appear.

I feel like eBay trick you a little though, they should make it CLEAR that hey... you CAN decline if you want... rather it looks and feels like a normal return request, except for that extra option.

Got it.
So if you have a 14 day return policy and the return request comes in at day 10, no decline option.
If it came in at day 16, you have the option.

Completely misunderstood earlier. I do not get many return requests, but I have never had the decline option.

Thanks for the clarification!

That should be the case. I am 99% sure. Most of my accounts are TRS with 30 day returns, so the odd few requests I do get tend to be completely out of that window.

The buyer can still open a dispute with PayPal unfortunately.

What about double dipping with paypal?

Evil buyer could still do damage if so determined.

Its when they open a case for 'changed mind' or whatever after the returns window. If its for ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or defective you can't decline it.
I normally reply with 'no thanks'
