Hello, how do I go about changing IP address? I used to just take the power cable out of the router and put it back in but that no longer seems to be working and just giving me the same IP address. I'm on sky fibre.

2 options really.

24vc.com - GUARANTEED FRESH IP for the UK - this will allow you a solid VPN to connect to your new eBay account

Mobile Dongle (preferred by myself) - check network strength in your area before diving in, I use O2 4G Huawei and works wonders, the IP pool is very large. Unplug and plug back in for a new IP address.

Other options exists to get IP adresses for stealth.

You can get yourself an USB Internet keys and use it just for this purpose.

How does the mobile dongle work sorry never used one before?

When its all set up all you have to do is unplug it from your laptop
Wait say 20 seconds
Plug it in again
Check IP address to make sure its changed and note down the IP address

Job done :)

USB Internet key usually goes with its own software for connection.

Once you have installed it, unplug your router and plug the USB dongle in one of your USB ports. The dongle has a phone SIM inside with "data" traffic.

Run the software and get connected.

You should have a new IP everytime you disconnect and reconnect.

When you have done, unplug the USB key and reconnect you router again.

SKY Fibre is a bugger, I had to downgrade from it to the standard BB as kept getting the same recycled IP address or sticky IP address as it is known as - apparently due to the lower numbers of people in your area that are on fibre you are much more likely to get the same IP address back - I found I had to unplug for 6-7 minutes to get a new IP.

Thanks Ritchie I though it was the fibre as I didn't have any problem before i upgraded to it.

Is non always different. IPs will eventually be recycled at one point. This depends on the pool of IPs of your ISP.

One of the thing you have t take care of if you have more than one stealth is not cross use IPs across the accounts.

This is the reason behind taking note of which account uses what IP.

If you have ipburger.com as your browser opening page it displays your ip and under it you can click and copy then paste it in to your records file or spreadsheet.

It also shows you previous ip addresses used to the right of the screen as another check before you open ebay.

I also create wallpaper displaying the ip address for each identity as another check. if the ip is different you get the opportunity to check before I blunder on to ebay and paypal
