Default Well brexit has bodged up my ebay stock items

Anyone else in the uk feeling the suckiness of the pound to dollar and pound to Euro?

All my stock is bought in Euros or Dollars. I managed to sqeeze out 1.21 Euros to the pound today after watching the exchange like a hawk. My stock for Euros has essentially gone up in price by 8% since last week. I havent even looked at my USD stock to see how that fares.

Complete recalc of all stock costs working out margins means that many of my to sellers are barely breaking even now.

Sucks to be me haha. Lets hope for some calm after the initial shock eh.

Its not going to be good, lets put it that way...
But life moves on, we need to look for new openings because of brexit.
Hard to see at the moment, but maybe in 6 months to a year, things may be clearer...

we hope

This.

Life just goes on and we all need to shift our stock- Some will lose money, some will win money but day to day business doesn't change. We sell stuff, people buy stuff. Life just moves on.

yep i know how you feel OP all my stock is bought in USA.

But this would have happened, even if we voted to stay in the EU.
So it was to be expected.

Well said Bunneh, about it happening whatever the referendum result had been, the commotion that is being made about it now is beyond belief. The fact that food prices are coming down is super news for a lot of people, a fact that seems to be getting ignored by the most vocal of the anti-brexit group.

They are what you call ' sore losers'

but i do enjoy the jokes going around on facebook and the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ petitions at the moment because they want a 2nd referendum.

''We lost the football, can we have a re-match'' or '' I didnt win the lottery, can we have a redraw'' type things lol..

Hehe exactly Bunneh, that's what has been doing the rounds of course, anything sporting that we lose can we have a replay because we lost, or if we lose the lottery can we have a rerun of that.

Amazing where those sour grapes are cropping up as well like some our most well known business people and entrepreneurs who should be giving a little more thought to what life is like for to many people in this country instead of how their own profits might be being affected.

Interesting as well who's stories that were just getting all the press attention before Brexit, now those stories like Kate Moss's best fried who sold the BHS stores to that idiotic 3 times bankrupted ex racing driver for £1. That issue was in the daily papers every day, now it is not even making a few lines of newsprint on a middle page of the dailies. How those two characters must be rubbing their hands with glee and laughing all the way to the banks.

It is true what you said. As vetran stealthers we know all about business shock and are not strangers to finding other ways to generate.

It still sucks seeing some of my items which sold LOTS at low margins to no longer be profitable. And no, its not just a case of put the prices up

Well people will gradually start putting their prices up, everyone will be in the same boat.
The £ should strengthen soon anyway we aren't even leaving the EU for 2 years+

I buy some goods from Europe, I have had to put up prices and therefore get less sales. The currency difference has wiped out profit on some lines.....

A business I started in a group, has had 2 contracts pulled and a number 'waiting' on what happens......staff will have to be let go....it is the uncertainty that will affect the £ so 2 years is a long time and it might be even worse after that!!!........but agree we have to just carry on, some will have to tighten their belts...but it is not a disaster we are not at war or starving!!

so it is easy to say sour grapes...I agree with alot of the leave sentiment and respect the people have spoken, albeit with a 3% difference ...but I also think alot of these leavers dont have a pot to pi ss in, they think they have nothing to lose and only will gain, they have no stocks and shares or property ... they are not business owners and will start whining when it effects them or they lose their job because of it etc etc.....
