Best way to send money from UK to China
 

I've been trading for 8 or 9 years on ebay, sending money via western union to my supplier in China. I was told by the cashier recently I need to open a WU business account, due to the high volume of cash I was sending, she said they weren't just picking on me, but asking several high volume customers to do this. My supplier hasn't got a business account, as she says it costs her 1000£ a year to open one. I did try sending online via WU and my bank, and the rates were better, but my bank got alarmed and refused to send the money over. Anyone suggest the smoothest way to send oney over that doesnt take days on end to arrive?

Is there moneygram in the UK?

I switch from W/U to Moneygram once I've reached W/U's annual limit. I know they have M/G in China.

Yes you can use money gram their rates are worst then westren union

Why u can't send through bank?

Use fx agents like hifx fairfx worldfirst etc all give very good rates

Moneygram is cheaper than W/U, on this side of the pond at least.

Have you tried Transferwise? really good exchange rates and very little commission charged plus it's bank to bank.

Failing that try bitcoin really easy to buy here and sell for CNY from here too into your

no, but Ill look into transferwise. I have just tried to send by WU via online not by agent, and though its a bit scary they take the money out your bank and you have to wait an hour or 2 for it to confirm its been received, you do get better rates. I saved about £100 on a 2500 gbp trnsaction

Transfer rates must suck for W/U in UK. In USA I'll pay $18 to send $3000. It's also significantly more expensive here to use the website/app rather than go to an agent.

I guess I'll just butt out now!
