PayPal Lifting Receiving Limit Time Frame

Hi, my account is soft limited at the moment so I can still withdraw funds etc but it is just below the actual receiving limit, so the full limitation has not been activated yet.

Sent documents in today and was just wondering how long it will actually take to have the docs checked by PayPal and to receive a response?

All replies are appreciated :)

It takes around 3-7 days when you hit the hard limit.

Soft limits is around 10-14 days

Under £1650 - 3/4 weeks
Between £1650 and (as of today) £2100 - usually 7 to 14 days
Over £2100 - 24 hours to a week if they are really behind!

Right okay. I might just go into the full limitation then to speed up the process. Should this be okay?

A week ago I'd past the £2100 mark and submitted the docs however after 8 days there was still nothing.

Ended up calling Paypal (I know it's not advised), they said everything was there and that they were going to expedite it so It will be reviewed within 24 hours.

Limits were removed 18 hours later.

Echo that paulburrows15, as I have said before, I phoned in after waiting ages for docs to be cleared, just got asked what the original phone number on the account was. The rep went to look at the docs there and then in my case, came back and said everything was fine and to log out then log back in again and that was it. No problems at all after that.

UPDATE:

Submitted docs yesterday and called in today. Lady on the other end put me on hold for 2 minute and came back to tell me that the receiving limit has been lifted.

Received an email minutes after saying my PayPal account has been restored to regular standing.

Happy days

If only it was that easy to always get them lifted on the phone without getting permanently limited. So many horror stories. Not advised if it's a good account, not worth the risk personally.

Why is it such a no no to contact PayPal when you have an issue that need resolving ? It doesn't say a lot for their customer service

Because it can mean a manual review of your account.

Its better to stay under the radar. Of course calling cant be helped sometimes but in general the advice is always avoid it if you can.

^^ Agreed, always best to avoid calling in -- it can lead to auto suspension upon review

Because its always a roulette

Some of their CS team are really great and will help. The other half will limit your account for no reason.

arent all reviews "manual" i.e - an actual human, reviews your account once docs have been submitted regardless of whether someone phoned in or not?

do you mean that by phoning in, your account is just placed in the spotlight for more scrutiny?

Different departments deal with phone calls vs non phone call reviews

The phone call department is based in Ireland and looks at things a lot closer.
