ip addresses and user accounts.
 

hello guys,

just a quick question thats been on my mind.

i know that we have to have different and fresh ip addresses for ebay stealth accounts but what i do with my user accounts on my mac is keep them absolutley seperate.

i.e my mums user i log on only with the home broadband wifi.

guest user (which is my stealth account) i log on only with my dongle.

is this absolutley neccessary. i.e could i be logged onto my mums account but disable the wifi, then plug the dongle in then log onto ebay so i have the different ip, or do i keep them all seperate.

i just do alot of browsing and research on the dongle which recently has been taking up alot of useage!

sorry if this sounds a bit stupid! just want to be absolutley sure!

I'm not completely sure what you're asking. Please can you clarify?

Do you keep track of your IP addresses used?

It's hard to make out what you are asking. However, I would keep things separate to be on the safe side. It's also more organized.

sorry! basically the user accounts on my mac...

for example my user account for ebay i use my dongle to connect to the wifi and browse the internet. i then pull out the dongle without the wifi on so i dont connect to the old ip address which will link me

the guest user account i use the home wifi which has the old ip address but i dont log into ebay or anything.

is it possible to log on the guest user account, browse the internet on the wifi (which i was limited on). then turn the wifi off, put the dongle in which will use a new ip address and then sign into ebay? or will that cause links even though im on a new ip address but on an account that has been browsing the internet on the old ip address

I am not sure about what you are exactly doing

but if you browse internet and you DON'T go on ebay or read your email from ebay, they cannot know what you are doing, doesn't matter the ip or the user account you are using

I keep my IP addresses separate for each user accounts on my mac

I always sign out of eBay and turn wifi off before I log out/in to each user on the mac to avoid any mistakes (I use an internet dongle to operate on eBay)

If I am logged in on one of the user accounts and still logged out of ebay etc, can I use the wifi (old IP address) or will it be linked? or can it only be linked when you are logged into ebay?

im just being absolutey carefull more than anything.

i just dont want to use up all the data on my dongle you see.

so i can just operate on the old ip address BUT when i want to sign into ebay, i just make sure i use my new ip address. great thanks!

But would that not require you to build cookies and history from scratch again?

What you are talking about doing is fine but if you really want to be extra careful then keep the windows user accounts you use for stealth only for stealth. Do all your other internet browsing on another user account.

regarding cookies what can ebay actually see? can they see websites or any kind of data for that matter of what you have been browsing? or is there really no clear answer?

Use slim ccleaner to delete the cookies, you can add other rubbish like Facebook to the exclusion list.

Have a generic computer user name such as owner
