How likely am I to win this with Paypal.

Sent item special delivery to correct address, was signed for but not in the buyers name. Have the receipt with postcode, street and house number on.
I know Paypal and eBay are anti-seller, curious how this normally works out.
Few hundred at stake.

Would be nice to get some advice and or experience you can share.

Thank you.

You will win the case.

Just make sure to add tracking details and a photo of the receipt.

Should win that all day long. What is the buyer claiming out of question?

Doesn't actually matter who signs for it, so long as it was delivered to the address PayPal provided.

Can you imagine if PayPal did care who signed for it, scammers would rake chaos!

Claiming the item was not delivered and they do not recognize the name singed, I have original receipts and of course the tracking number. ( special delivery )

It sounds like they are trying to pull a fast one.

Its very rare for special delivery items to go to the wrong house. Recorded Mail, sure it happens now and then, but Special Delivery I have never heard of it happening with.

nothing will happen to buyer fraud-wise, no way...there isn't the evidence beyond reasonable doubt, it would have to be a repeat offender, and these people just dont get reported by everyone they try and rip off.....

pretty sure OP will win it though.

In fairness other family members could sign and keep an item. If you were curious you could look on the electoral roll and see who lives there - that does not include visitors though...

the buyer may have deliberately signed it wrongly too....

specials are not allowed to be delivered to a neighbour, as far as I know...

I called the post office and youre right in saying, specials arnt allowed to deliver to neighbours, would be taken back to PO for collection or will be redelivered.

make the claim to the post office. if your buyer is saying not received even though signed for then follow the post office processes and procedures. Who knows how many other items have been not received by this person. Being contacted by post Office under these circumstances may make them jog their memory. You might get a refund form the po and keep the buyers payment too. what have you to lose.? your claim is none delivery to your customer according to your customer according to your customer.
it could be a crooked post man. flollow the PO procedure make a claim.

No way royalmail will refund OP
You will win the case just add tracking number to case and relax

Re: How likely am I to win this with Paypal.

**UPDATE**

In an amazing turn of events, the buyer is claiming the item has arrived at a wrong address, 10 doors down. Has uploaded a photo of a empty parcel with the wrong address on, 89 not 99. Has claimed the item in question was not in but just a can of drink, a receipt and plastic bag, it just so happens I do use plastic bags and it must of had a local receipt inside it.

Its clear to me the tracking sticker has been removed and put onto another empty parcel with a different address, you cant tell by the photos but im sure u could in person.

is claiming the person received it is a family friend and notified him, just so happens they have close linked names.

Remember special delivery involved with his exact address on the receipt.

Very strange one here, starting to wonder which way it will go.

Thoughts ?

If item not described you could lose that.. but I would never go 10 doors down, since how would I know it'd be that far down? When would you stop going door to door to neighbors?

I would ask them to go to their local police, insist on getting a crime reference number. Let them know if they aren't willing to do that, you're more than happy to contact their local police on their behalf.

Obviously playing silly buggers.

They are messing you around. Sounds like a scam to me.

Unfortunately if they open a 'item not as described' case you will likely be sent back an empty box and they will receive a refund.

Hence my suggestion to involve Johnny Law.

If they think you're going to phone their local constabulary and there's a chance they'll investigate, they may back off and 'find' the item.

I've used that method a couple of times with success.

"Oh no, it sounds like someone at the delivery company is switching packages as I know I sent a genuine parcel. As the item arrived with you, I suggest you contact your local police and ask them to investigate. Of course, this could be stressful for you, so I'd be happy to contact them for you. Once we have a crime reference number, we can look into refunding and claiming the amount back from the delivery company."

I agree, a couple of scare tactics under the guise of helpfulness often works wonders in these situations.
