Using a dead relative's account

I got suspended yesterday

Reading about starting a stealth account it seems you need to start slowly and let the account 'age' a little and buy some things to look legit

I'm desperate to get selling again and i thought about my late Dad's account

It's been open for a few years. He bought things on it sporadically over the years

He never sold on it

It was last accessed in May to change the password

It is linked to a gmail account which is setup to forward all emails to his hotmail account

His paypal account is linked to his defunct debit card and my bank account i was using when banned (but i wasn't using his paypal account)

I may have accessed his account from my PC

Could i, use a diiferent IP, a new windows user, a new bank account and begin selling?

I've never accessed his gmail account from my PC

I still have his old phone. Still use his postal address

What obvious things i am missing?

Your late dad will hunt you for using his account, LMFAO.

Re: Using a dead relative's account

The only issue is that you accessed it on your PC. Which is small if you can use new user account and new IP.

You would need to stay below the yearly limits for taxes request

They're pretty low aren't they? Do you know what they are in UK?

How could they lifted?

Re: Using a dead relative's account

Sounds like it's going to be linked to your suspended account already.

If you do decide to use the account, a new user account, fresh ip address and new bank account is a must.

Don't worry about what newjerseymax said, US accounts work differently.

Could you say how?

Re: Using a dead relative's account

Well, you said yourself, you may have accessed it before from your pc. I'm guessing there will be ip links over the years, same last name and address?

Just because it's linked doesn't mean it will definitely be suspended by association, but the accounts on shaky ground.

Re: Using a dead relative's account

Just to add, if they do suspend the account by association, they won't do it right away.

It's usually just when you think your safe, once you've been selling a while and have a healthy paypal balance.

They can be ****s.

Re: Using a dead relative's account

We have the same surname but different addresses

I learned today my IP address changes when the router has been rebooted. Although i suppose whichever IP i had back in May (when i changed the password) probably went to both accounts

When my account was suspended yesterday they didn't touch my paypal account. I can still access it and use the balance. They operate separately, they can't affect the paypal account, can they?

Re: Using a dead relative's account

You can still use the paypal, just not with another eBay.

I would argue that point :)

Longterm not the best way to operate safely

Re: Using a dead relative's account

But doesnt have to be a long term solution, better to have an active account then to have a dormant account , specially if you need to get rid of things , why waste good accounts trying to get rid of stock that could potentially get you in trouble? This way you have another account with minimum fuss and can get rid of dead, unwanted, unusable stock

Advice given is designed for the masses, so only the safest, best routes back on, are worth discussing when tailoring advice to a newbie. No point in cutting corners at the start when trying to learn stealth.

Once you know stealth you can make up your own mind how you operate.

Re: Using a dead relative's account

you said the dads paypal is linked to your bank - you also said your bank was the one you were using when banned. 1 bank cannot be attached to 2 paypals (yours and his) - so not sure if I misunderstood.....

Re: Using a dead relative's account

I'd stop using that account, and use a stealth account.

Re: Using a dead relative's account

Change things slowly. Log in using the same browser(with cookies) your dad did on your new IP and you should be fine. If the only link is your once or twice logged in from the same ip don't worry about it. I log into 1 paypal/ebay from upto 5 different IP's a day. I'm pretty sure someone else whose abuse paypal has used some of them IP's. You account is seperate from your dads completely other than you may of logged in using the same ip. be slow building your sales ( as any accounts needs to be and you should be fine)
