Static IP address
 

Was looking at a stelth account after just being suspended but my isp has informed me that i have a static ip address .....NOW WHAT is there any point to starting an stelth account please

The simple answer is to buy a dongle so the IP address is totally different to your usual one. Many available on ebay for cheap price, just check coverage at your postcode before buying to make sure signal is good.

Phone tethering is also a cheap and solid option

i have heard that changing my router to one I have stuck in my cupboard will change my ip address is this correct ?

Your router does not have an influence on your ISP assigned address, it is their external network which assigns such.

For those without a static IP address, switching off the router etc. could allow for a change of IP, but as yours is static, this will not work.

If possible, ask them to switch off the static IP assignment. If such is not possible, please consider the other options mentioned above.
