hello all,

I have recently had a new laptop, and have been booted off ebay twice in a week, would this be the reason...tia...

we need more detail, and try looking on the linking section of the forum.

possibly;
1/ you or someone in your household has been suspended before
2/ you share an ip with a suspended account
3/ secondhand laptop?

yes i have been suspended, countless times..and my ip is allways the same...

Than you are linked by IP....Check the forums on IP issue. It has been explained how to change IP.

Also as well as changing IP, important you delete your flash cookies and use the right web browser. Firefox is the best option.

Have you read ebay stealth? This is well covered in the book.

Thanks for ur help...seems strange, that all of a sudden this is happening...as I have gone atleast 3 months and not been caught...lol...have been looking at the hide my ip site, so hopefully can get something sorted...by the way how do you pm...thanks very much.

No, no.. NO "Hide MY IP" its a proxy Ebay does not like and its not recommended. There are other ways to change your IP and no monthly fees to it... AOL dial up is also option for Ebay accounts. Gives new IP every time you sign on. You were just lucky to have accounts last up to three months.. If you want to PM click on the name and you will have the optsions menu than...

There are some great posts on the forum how to change your broadband IP. Many, including me, have both - broadband and aol dial up...

oh right...so u just use dial up for ebay I pressume...thanks.

Personally I use my AOL dial up account for any and ALL eBay interaction.

Do you have Virgin broadband? That is a common one in the UK that has the same IP for ever. You may be able to use a dongle. Just depends on the actual setup at your home as to the best advice to get around IP changing

To be honest i am begining to wonder if it is through paypal, they have caught me, as i set it to pay my fees, through the account they keep linking me to, as I owe them a lot on that...umm, so i am really in the dark to be honest...

you need to do some reading...its not about how it works , its whether it gives you a dynamic ip (changes each time you shut down and open)

^^^The IP will not change if it's Virgin one & they are murder for stealth.

this is so frustrating lol...they are such nobber's...i have ordered off hide my ip, but they have not got back intouch with me...and that was yesterday...has anyone used ccleaner and does it work...tia

yes cc cleaner works, another user screen on windows is a better option,

do not hide your ip - just change it from suspended one

i cant i have virgin media, broadband, and from what i read it can't be changed...tia

^^^ dongle is a usb-stix that could give you a change of IP. There are different types around. Do you have more than one account?

the thing is they never linked my accounts on me old comp...they have only done it since i have been using this one...i think it is very strange...lol

yes, but are they in same or similar details, its not just ip issue AND ae you sure you havent accessed suspended accounts on new pc, or even opened or respnded to emails related to it....

I have a new ip...new phone number, new name, new address...new email..ccleaner, anything else I need...lol...I do have a paypal account, so will I be safe to use that for paying my fees...TIA...:shocked:

NO if that paypal account has been anywhere near a suspended ebay account, it is linked. You can never use that again with ebay. :nono:

Ok, use ALL of this in the new user account on your computer. Use this only for your Ebay and PayPal. Very important and will save you troubles down the road...
Except PayPal , like MeanBean said....and you don't need to clear cookies, its safe with new user account and Ebay likes to see them.. Let them plant all they want and let them have it. Those cookies are all separate from the rest of the stuff on your computer because they are only in this user account.
