Hello all hope you are well...does entropay work with ebay uk...as I tried one and it would not work...TIA

it ought to work, explain what went wrong...and what did you do with address settings..

I dont know what went wrong, it just said contact customer services...and would not accept it....does it have to be in ur name or made up...god I am so crap at all of this...lol...

apparently entropay works without needing to change addresses according to some forumers but I still suggest changing the address to match ebay account, do it under account settings.

leave a couple of days after changing address before use, and put at least £3 on the card you are using.

the name on card doesnt matter ...

do they not check it for address match on ****bay...lol...soz

well thats the report of some of the UK coven - me, I always change address..

sorry to seem thick but ur name also i pressume..

no anything number, name, the 29 bus - ebay cant see it they look at house number and postcode if doing address verification (avs) ...

Hi, I have just used an entropay card on Paypal. I create the card with the name on my stealth accounts (this helps me keep track of which card goes with which account).

I don't bother changing the address but I only add to paypal and have paypal account linked to ebay. So best to be on the safe side... If you plan on creating lots of VCC with entropay it might be best not to keep changing address as they may eventually limit your account.

I don't change my address with Entropay to match my stealth details when I add my card to Paypal. But it may be best to do as oompaloompa suggested and do it to be on the safe side. As I don't use the card on Ebay - only on Paypal - I can't confirm whether it is necessary or not if adding it to Ebay.

The only problem I would foresee is entropay have a habit of restricting accounts if they suspect fraudulant activity and repeatedly changing address might qualify as such,

I am suprised they still work at all with EBay/PP to be honest.... they seem a very flimsy way to confirm info.

But still they do work for the moment. I wonder how long for though.

I've had my entropay account limited once for creating too many cards.... but it was a simple matter to get it unlocked.

well actually, I just followed forum advice to match up address, seems though that not matching is ok too as avs isnt used. I tested it the other day...so, whilst I agree entropay is flimsy, it is no worse than any other bank issued card you use....

In all honesty ebay/paypal would have banned vcc if they didnt want them used.....

Captainjack is right. I have used my entropay card to verify my paypal and ebay account leaving the address different then the one on my ebay/paypal accounts. Surprisingly it works. Also one more thing. You know how entropay send you there invoices pretty late. But, if you send them en email, they will give you the paypal/ebay code to verify your ebay/paypal account.

It was "getaroundebay" that made the point about not having to change address on Entropay. I am glad that captainjack and yozalo have confirmed this is also the case as I didn't want to risk it on the basis of just one member's claim (no disrespect getaround).

It really does appear that UK Paypal's systems are not quite as "state of the art" as they make people believe:

1. They tell people the bank account name & paypal account name MUST match - NOT TRUE.
2. They tell you the address details must match when doing credit card validation - NOT TRUE. I thought the majority of credit / debit card validation systems operated a house number / name & postcode verification.

I'm setting up a new Paypal account over the next week or so. I will post here to confirm the "address" part, when it's done.

It's not so much PayPal as Entropay..... If i tried adding my personal credit cards to my accounts it wouldn't work without the correct biling info as the card company rejects the paypal authorisation attempt.

However Entropay don't.... no matter what name and address you enter for your billing information.

Same with the banks.... it's up to them whether they reject the incomming DD instruction and 9 times out of 10 they don't, whatever name you put on it.

On a side not my entropay account has just been limited untill I provide documents :(

I'm not with Amazon but, as I understand it, Entropay does not work for Amazon. I think you'd need a pre-paid card, such as '3V' as this allows for AVS.

But you'd need a senior member of the forum to confirm this :)

Can I just ask if registering for entropay do you put in same DOB as stealth account?

You register EP account in your REAL Details...they dont share this information with eb/PP. Your pp and eb can be stealth DOB.

All you do is make the entropay account with your real ID.

Use your own credit or debit card to fund it.

Then use part of those funds to make the (virtual) card you will use with paypal.

All you do is use the numbers of the virtual card with your stealth paypal.

Quite easy.

Please can you explain 'then use part of the funds to make the ( virtual card)

I have set up my entropay account in real id, added funds with my debit card - I can now see my number on my virtual entropay card - I use that info to add to paypal ? Or does the above sentence mean I need to do something else first?

When you make the entropay account you add money to make it active.

Use part of that balance for the VCC.

You make OTHER virtual cards from that one - you should see a button to create more virtual cards from the main card Stilldontgetit

Probably explains why they asked me to send in ID when I tried making an account, haha.

You can't use f@ke info to make Entropay account....cannot be done. You have to use REAL information.

No. This is why many posters are having problems.

You make entropay with your real ID.

When you make the virtual credit card ( with funds from the main account) all you need to do is add the NUMBERS to your stealth paypal

Dont try to trick Entropay with stealth info - it isnt necessary - be straight with them.

I am true to them and have had solid success with them

here's the neat trick with entropay.

You use the main card to fund the VCC for paypal.

You can use all vcc on entropay.. just dont go making 10 cards at once or you will more than likely get flagged.

I never use the main card of EP on PP or eB or any other service - good to keep that as its own entity...only using the sub-VCCs generated

Yes Entropay doesn't not like when your a new member and create 10 cards , delete 5 and create another 10, many flags go up

But Entropay is a good company, I did exactly what I should not of when I first started and created many accounts and deleted some , created more

I found everything on hold, but the great thing with Entropay is just be honest with them, and once I explained I have many online business and need separate cards for each account, websites , eBay, etc.. And told them to just take a look at the transaction amounts which didn't total $20 with 16 cards, and there is absolutely no fraud here

That was it , after that they lifted all restrictions and I went ahead and did the highest verification, and now I make as many cards as I need , and never any problems with them.

Entropay is a great tool in making accounts, just another piece that allows you to create many accounts , quickly and keeps the cost down , which is always a great help especially when starting out
