Things to do to ensure longevity:

- Make sure all details are up to date (ID, verification etc.) and save your ID docs for future restrictions/requests.

- Never sell without using eBay labels (Using eBay's provided labels, they prefer it, for international shipments use reliable courier companies, for collections always confirm the collection by receiving the collection code from the buyer upon collection).

- Always dispatch on time and ensure tracking is attached to the order.

- Always be attentive to your buyers requests/messages.

- Always provide a return label upon return request immediately, do not try to dispute it, eBay always sides with the buyer it's an uphill battle, any difficulties/issues you create for eBay will lead to further restrictions in the future.

- (Similar to the point above) Avoid having eBay step in to any situation (e.g. cases resolved without buyers resolution), sort out every issue you may have directly with buyers.

- Maintain crystal clear descriptions, pictures (preferably with your user ID visible on the listing picture as a paper tag or your company logo cut out), accurate details of what you are selling and it's condition, shows reliability.

- Be careful when listing items that are Brand New / Sealed. If there is any discrepancy it may cause a problem with eBay.

- In the every so often situation where you get a buyer attempting to return something different, try to save a serial number or something proving the item you sold is different to the one you received, or any other types of evidence to help your case.

- If there is something your unsure about don't hesitate to use eBay's live chat service, they are there to help out. Respectfully articulate yourself when speaking to eBay staff or any buyer on the platform. eBay periodically reviews your messages.

- If someone messages you attempting to buy the item offsite to get a better deal cutting eBay out, respond saying it's against the rules and subsequently block them / report them to eBay. Shows integrity.

- Avoid Vero strikes (e.g. Counterfeit products, list an item as unbranded if you are unsure of the brand or if its an alternative of a brand product, use only your own photographs for your listings to avoid copy write strikes, use AI Grok/CGPT to reword copy/pasted description texts, do not sell products with manufacturers warranty if it doesn't include it).

- Do not sell junk / low quality products. If you are drop shipping, I would advise not to ship directly from China to the buyer. I would buy items in bulk, inspect them before shipping them. If anything arrives incorrectly/damaged, you are to blame.

- When selling high valued items, consider attaching a retracted info sales invoice or receipt / e-receipt (e.g. for designer clothes that have authenticity concerns), you can create this if you don't have it, but it helps with your sale. Also keep in mind when selling high valued items that eBay may restrict your account pending further info (e.g. invoices / proof of purchase) so keep that in mind.

- Do not panic if you receive a payout restriction or MC011 hold. These are bound to happen. Provide eBay what they need, accurately (e.g. all details from invoices matching your eBay accounts details, payment detail, name, address). Best to print out invoices / bank statements to avoid any inconsistency check when submitting a raw PDF.

- Resolve any issues you may have in the resolution centre as soon as possible.

eBay want to see that you are a trust worthy and reliable seller that generates them profit. If you do so you should have longevity.

That's pretty much it really.

Hope that helps!

if your turnover is less than 1K per month just make sure you withdraw often and in absence of performance problems you should be good

main issues arise when you move to higher merchant tier , I would estimate it starts from about 3K-5K per month , this is where reviews start and then the higher you go the more likely you are going to be suspended for minor performance problems

it is essentially a class society on ebay similar to that of old britain but the other way around , on ebay the more money you make the more suspicious you are and the less rights you have in case you get restricted or suspended

Exactly - aristocratic and elitist.

They view it as it's a privilege for you to be selling on their incredible platform..

That being said, if you follow their instructions correctly and fulfil their requests you should be A-OK.

Sometimes,it is not you but some items you sell are just too controversial eg too many returns,INAD issues.
Comic books are on the list besides cell phone, precious metal, coins.

True, in my experience though you can sell these items (e.g. iPhones even used) but you must have many pictures and details detailing everything about it (show all scratches, battery health %) that way if a buyer complains, they knew what they were buying and eBay will see that you were crystal clear
